I had high expectations of The Generator from its reviews.
As positives -
- the location is great. It's right beside one metro line and walking distances from others, meaning getting around Paris is pretty easy. It's also near lots of good eating spots, boulangeries and a supermarket.
- check in was easy, and the staff made us feel very welcome.
- good wifi.
- the other residents were all very friendly.
Less positive -
- we couldn't close our room's window properly and it kept blowing open. When we asked reception for help they sent up a security guard to try to fix it, who assured us he had - only to have it blow wide open again any time there were strong winds.
- the bedroom could have been cleaner. The floor was dirty and we needed to keep shoes on (no complaints re the bathroom though).
- we found the food at the snack bar relatively expensive and it was much better value to go out and eat elsewhere.
