"Reception team, bar and breakfast made the visit a pleasure. The design of the building is very appealing based around the magnificent old Customs House. I like that it is not a rectangular box. It means you do need to think before heading for the lift to get to the upper rooms. One sign could be improved. Not keen on self check in machines. It means you can't verify if you do have the room with double bed and single...I'm pretty sure human interaction will help vet who is going into these properties. It maybe fine if you are on business with standard double room and you've been there before but not if anything more complicated. The property is located near Glasgow Central Station so it's going to be a bit interesting around the hotel. Still, a bit of an eye opener. The local government/council haven't done anything to help here. E.g. Graffiti covering the prime riverside area in front of the hotel, which the council have done nothing about, never mind the state of the nearby underpass beneath the station. None of this should impact the Hotel review, they've made the area better. It is excellent. Well done. The stain is on local government for ignoring this part of town for the last decade and more."

"This hotel is brilliant for a stay close to GLA. It is clean and comfortable, and the breakast is excellent. The biggest problem for us was finding it, quite the accomplishment for a large building that’s a three minutes walk away from the arrivals exit. When I spoke to the manager about this, he was completely unsympathetic, and he might just as well have come right out and said that he thought I was a very stupid old woman. He’s right about “old” but this old girl was travelling independently around Europe in 1970, armed only with paper maps. The next day, i was at the exit from arrivals, and there was a obviously frazzled gentleman with google maps open on his phone, looking totally lost. “Holiday Inn Express?” I asked. Yes indeed. He had looked, but same as me, he had seen no signage. So I gave him the directions: 1. Cross the traffic lanes at the purple bus. 2. Head into the parking garage, and follow the path of zebra stripes,which go off to your left. No way will you see the unlit sign in the garage which is mounted high and parallel to your direction of travel. 3. Go behind the glass fence-like structure. That’s a covered walkway, and you’ll be there in about two minutes. Maybe HIEx could share these instructions with expected guests. It took me almost an hour of walking back and forth looking for signs,and in circles (with my crutch and mobility issues) to get there the first time. I think HIEx owes me a drink. "

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Staff was friendly and professional. Great location from the train station. Breakfast was over priced when local cafe service provides the same breakfast for less. It is a buffet style breakfast. Food wasn't as hot as I would like, but overall very good. Lots to do in the area. Lots of stores and restaurants. Beautiful park outside of train station. I had an awesome time. I highly recommend this property. "

"Hotel feels sophisticated. Lovely reception area and cosy relaxed bar and restaurant. Buffet breakfast had a great variety. We ate in the restaurant for one evening and the food was lovely. Our room for 3 (2 adults & one teenager) was a great size with two double beds. Well equipped gym and good sized pool (no additional charge). All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It’s a 15 minute stroll into the city centre but we also used Uber a couple of times which only cost £6. Will definitely go back."
