Thank you for your review. I understand that some guests book properties without being aware of what the weather is going to be like when they arrive. It just so happened that the weather was horrible the weekend they arrived. Spoiler Alert: FACT: The showers worked just before they arrived and right after they left. It was 8 pm and I happened to be out of town. I run multiple properties so the exact configuration of this shower and how it works was something I didn’t know off hand. It is clear plastic ball, crystal like handle that you pull straight out to activate the water, then twist left or right, for hot and cold. It doesn’t need to be pulled hard to turn on. That was the first directions that I gave her. I’m not sure why multiple adults onsite couldn’t figure this out. I did tell her that I couldn’t get a handyman that very second at 8pm on a Friday night. The house was cleaned prior to their arrival so I immediately asked the cleaners if they had any issues with the shower water. They said that they didn’t have any issues and she used the water to clean the shower. The cleaner lady told me she would go over there, but it would be in about an hour. She didn’t want to wait, and they decided to leave. The pictures I received were close-up of just the knob. She didn’t send me any videos of it not working nor anything like that. I allowed them to leave and agreed refunded them their money because I was under the assumption that the showers didn’t work. Long story short, my wife and daughter went by first thing the next morning and both showers worked fine. There was absolutely nothing wrong with either shower. My 13-year-old daughter made a video for me showing that she could easily turn on/off the showers. The facts are the weather was horrible that weekend, they lived a little over an hour away, the prior guests, the cleaners, and my wife and daughter had zero issues turning the shower water on (both right before and right after their stay), so I find it bizarre and suspicious that multiple adults couldn’t figure out how to work a common shower. I have no problems owning up to something if I’m indeed at fault. I run an honest business and I get a little angry when guests try to pull a fast one over on me and they aren’t completely honest. There was nothing wrong with either shower, they worked before they arrive and after they left. You can make up your decision on the rest.

Thank you for taking the time to review this property. We acknowledge that you did a have an issue with your sheets during the stay and we also did our best to remedy it as quick as possible. We don’t always know what troubles or issues our guests are going through in their lives. Regardless of what you do, some people won’t be happy, regardless. When a guest has an issues we always try to get it handled as quickly as possible. She sent us photos of the hairs she saw on her bed. Let me clarify, that it was only a few of hairs on the primary bed. Does that make it ok, of course not. Sometimes issues arise, and need to be addressed. All sheets, towels, and other linens are always washed between guests. We have since made changes to the washing location and protocol, so this issue has been resolved. If there few hairs didn’t come off in the wash, we apologize. She specifically didn’t want anyone in the house, while they were away. She didn’t want us in the while they were there, she wanted it handled immediately, so my only option was to purchase multiple sets of new sheets for every bed. That way if there were any issues, she didn’t like how one sheet felt, she had multiple styles of brand-new sheets to use. I also offered to wash them at the property, or I would pay her to wash them. Her husband took the bedding from me. I told him if they wanted to wash them, just let me know what I owed them. I also want to note that from the time she informed us that they were home, to the time I brought sheets, it was one hour. I live 45 minutes away. I responded immediately, once I got the information. She is correct that we did have bunkbeds in the early photos of the property. There were some serious safety issues with the bunk beds, so they were removed. 1. The top bunk was within 30 inches to the fan. 2. The fan had to be turned off in order to access the bed. 3. The cleaning lady (previous) had issues climbing onto the bed in order to change the sheets. 4. The cleaning lady hurt herself exiting the top bunk and told us she could no longer make the top bunk. * * * The other issues were immediately remedied A. The carpet I had had maintenance come out and look for nails poking through the carpet. B. I’ve never seen any roaches on property. The property receives monthly spraying. C. Every guest gets a new sponge and soap to wash dishes. We also provide other cleaning items as well for guest that want them. D. There were a few small scratches one of the pots. I purchased a replacement and removed metal spatulas. E. We did added a portable ac unit to help with the summer heat. F. All windows have screens, so mosquitos should not be an issue unless you leave the sliding door open and don’t use the screen. G. I have a new cleaner so if there were chips left in the kitchen it should be an issue any longer. H. We always leave extra trash bags for the guests. If she didn’t have any, we apologize. We have been in the business for 7 years. When issues come up, we do our best to resolve them ASAP. We have had a very stellar track record for good reviews. When guests reach out to us with issues, we immediately jump on it to get it resolved. We don’t always know what troubles or issues our guests are going through in their lives. Regardless of what you do, some people won’t be happy, regardless. I want everyone who reads this to know that we do everything in our power to make your trip the best possible trip.
