Many many aspects. From the age of the property to charges for just about everything m, lack of good food and watered down drinks, even beer. Just a very low rating for an all inclusive property. Very good for those who have never stayed in an all inclusive. But for those who have experienced it, this was sad.

I loved this property! Very clean resort with a nice beach and plenty of food choices and activities. I missed the foam party but made it to the neon party that was next door at the Jalisco.. family friendly and lots of fun for all ages. My only complaint is the noise. The walls are paper thin. There were people that stayed up until 5 am two nights in a row… running around, shouting and yelling.

The staff in all areas is great in guest service.the one thing we weren’t satisfied with was, the entertainment.thus is our second visit to this resort , the first time was last year in April. I noticed that the entertainment staff was a smaller group.you had new faces ,but missing some of your most talented people. I understand that people come and go in this industry for different reasons.however it should always be to excel. I am not trying to take anything away from the the entertainers they do work very hard , but I do feel like there’s something missing and too much karaoke.one night there was an interruption of a show due to “technical difficulties “ but never brought it back,they went to karaoke instead. I will continue to be a guest at your resorts but I just wanted to let you know how I feel.

I have stayed at many expensive all inclusive resorts in Mexico. This was by far the most bang for my buck. I am a resort snob and this place far exceeded by expectations for a basic Riu. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed staying at the Riu Vallarta. Everything about it was great. I think it’s the first all inclusive that I’ve had a cold refrigerator and hot water in my shower and I’ve been to lots of all inclusive so those were we’re just the cherry on top. Going back in two months and looking forward to it!😄

Easy access to the beach.But the only problem what I see is there is not much service on the beach side it was only one waiter for many people. The food is superb there I do recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing time.

Steak house and Italian restaurant were good. Buffet was so so. Pool areas were excellent. Staff was amazing. Rooms were fair, and Also really noisy from the mechanical stuff, refrigerator and AC. You won’t sleep well if noises disturb your sleep easily. All and all I give it 8/10.

The property is nice and the rooms are nice minus multiple boogers we found on our walls. After reading many reviews we were excited about the food but it was actually awful. The pastries tasted as if they had been sitting out for about a week. When we arrived we were informed there was no room service available although during booking it says there is. The only option for 24 hour food or drinks is the sports bar meaning you would have to leave your room and go down to the lobby. The do not do water bottles which I can appreciate but their water often tasted very bad leading to many days of dehydration during my stay. Overall will not be going back.

This all inclusive was not a 5 star resort but very nice. Anytime we asked for anything we got it. We asked for extra pillows for example and received them quickly. Norma at breakfast was so friendly that I looked forward to seeing her. There is a variety of food options and we never had to wait long for anything. There is plenty of seating and a nice ocean breeze. The water is not very clear but it is swimmable.

I have stayed at the RIU Palace and now the RIU Vallarta and can say I would not return to this one. I have also been to about 7 All inclusive and this was my least favorite. This hotel was clean and friendly and provided okay food, but when we first arrived it took over 15 min just to check in, the beds were horrible, my husband and I thought it was odd that there was no staff around the pool area to take drink orders along with some guy cleaning the pool with a harsh chemical scrubbing the tiles while everyone was in it. There is nothing within walking distance so you need a taxi to go anywhere so keep that in mind.

The only comment about one of the restaurants. The Steak House. I was there for one week and could never have dinner because there was always a big waiting list. So, if you know this is a very demanded restaurant, please add more tables. There is plenty of space.

Stayed at Riu Vallarta for 4 days as part of a 12 day trip in Puerto Vallarta (stayed at the Riu Jalisco for the other 8 days). Vallarta is a step up from the Jalisco in almost every way. Property is closer to the beach so it is not a long walk from your room to the beach. Crowds weren't too bad but you did have to get up early to claim a chair near the pools. Food options are good with a buffet and 4 restaurants. Biggest complaint I would have would be with the room refrigerator restock. We were in out room for 4 days and it was never restocked with water and drinks (was suppose to be done every 2 days). We had a Junior Suite Ocean View and it was a very comfortable room. Pillows could use updating as they are very flat and provide no support.
