We have stayed at the Sunset Inn many times and they never disappoint. We love walking into town and eating at the many good places to eat and enjoy the slow pace of life in Murphy.

Loved the retro feel of this motel. Town is adorable with a super fun vibe—very walkable for a night out. Cute breakfast basket and you can make coffee in the room. We’ll be back for a longer stay to do some waterfall hikes!

We discovered Sunset Motel a couple of years ago and couldn’t be happier. Our stays with a large hotel chain are a thing of the past. Here, staff strive to accommodate your every need and make you feel welcome. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the linens get changed every day - something others only provide upon request. We will not stay anywhere else while visiting Murphy, NC

Check in was smooth and right on time. The Lady at the desk came in just before 3 as stated. She offered good advice on travel in the area. The room was clean, in really good shape. Two cold bottles of water in the refrigerator in the room along with a breakfast basket. Bed was comfortable, the area was quiet, the shower was nice. Chair out front to sit on the porch.A nice step back in time.
