Beautiful and rustic log cabin with privacy
My family spent Christmas together at this cabin in McCloud. The property is large and is fully equipped for basketball and shuffleboard. A large ping pong table was enjoyed by all (located on the lower level). The beautiful hiking trail starts right out the cabin and is well marked. There is a lovely little stream running along the east side of the property. There are sleds available to use if you’re fortunate enough to have snow. The cabin is spacious ( 3 levels, sleeps 11), clean and stocked pretty well with kitchen supplies (glasses, flatware, plates, bowls etc.)The kitchen had a a toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishwasher, 1 oven and a large refrigerator/freezer. The pasta pot/dutch oven is in serious need of replacement so if you plan to boil water, bring your own. Most of the beds are comfortable, although one family member needed to swap out their mattress with one not being used because of poor quality. There were 9 of us but only 2 sofas and a padded rocking chair. It would be nice if large beanbags or additional padded seats were available so everyone could sit comfortably. The large dining table seats up to 10 persons. In addition there were 4 bar stools at the kitchen counter. There are 2 TVs on separate levels and games in the TV console on the main floor( second level). The decks outside and picnic tables surely are amazing when weather is warmer. I highly recommend this property for a tranquil retreat in the mountains.

Wonderful retreat cabin!
Everything was just right for our October 2023 retreat. The gorgeous woods outside the cabin, the cabin itself and the beds and kitchen. We have no complaints and will be back next year, most definitely.

Spacious, Beautiful location.
The house is large and well maintained. Very secluded at the end of a road in beautiful setting with forest on one side and meadow on the other. Decks delightful especially when the sun was out. Perfect for celebrating our family birthday. Small issue with WiFi, but owner was responsive and got it fixed. Overall, a great experience.

The Family Retreat We Needed
From beginning to end this was the perfect location and house for my family that ranged in age from 4 all the way to 80. everyone had an amazing stay. Was it the view from the deck? Was it the spacious house? Was it the natural surroundings? It was all of this and so much more. We can't wait to come back in the winter and enjoy all of it with some snow on the ground.

Professional renewal retreat
10 of us stayed in the cabin. We were able to sleep comfortably in the accommodations and a couple of us tried sleeping out on the deck - amazing view of the stars. The check in process was easy and the host was very responsive.

This such a great cabin in a remote location, close to McCloud. Fantastic private trails. A lot of private outside space. Warm and cozy inside with plenty of space for all. Everything you need for fun , lounging, cooking.

Starry, starry nights!
We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The property is so beautiful that you are drawn outside, so we went for many walks. Beds are really comfortable and the owners have thought of every detail and comfort needed to enjoy a stay, here. Even their deck chairs recline so that you can grab a blanket and enjoy the star-filled skies at night! We could've cooked for ourselves, but we didn't, instead enjoying breakfasts at the White Mountain Cafe and dinners at Sage, both superb and closeby in McCloud. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

Amazing and perfect getaway!!
My husband and I had an amazing time in McCloud! The property is in a secluded location; very quiet and peaceful. There’s also trails you can explore. In addition, there is a gorgeous view of Mt. Shasta! We will definately be back and would love to stay here during winter time.

Family retreat
Cabin provided room to spread out and gather together. We enjoyed hiking, playing ping pong and basketball. Could use more outside seating and a larger outdoor table but we made it work. Cabin was clean. We will definitely rent again.

Excellent family getaway!!
My family had a wonderful 3-night stay. There is an amazing sledding hill right next to the house, which gave the kids hours of entertainment. The ping pong table downstairs also provided hours of family fun. The ski resort is just minutes away, which makes this location absolutely perfect for both snow sports and peaceful, private relaxation. We will definitely be staying here again!

We enjoyed are stay;the bed mattress should be update; and kitchen supplies where weak at best. One cutting board and old pans. With some small improvements would rate much higher.

Wonderful, beautiful cabin in the woods
This property was perfect! I loved that it had a bathroom on each floor. The house was perfect for our 8 guests. It was clean, comfortable and quiet! It’s the perfect location for skiing/snowboarding Mt. Shasta. We all loved it!

Private and beautiful retreat
From the moment we pulled up, we were in love with the place. Its nestled at the bottom of small mountain and a beautiful meadow. The house was comfortable and very cozy. Well stocked kitchen and its own private trail that leads to one of the best views I've seen of Mt Shasta. If you go think about packing a telescope or just a blanket so you can sit on the deck and glimpse an unpolluted night sky.

This property was great. Beautiful setting,trails right from house, privacy, saw lots of deer in the meadow, and the cabin was very nice. I really hated leaving and will hopefully go again in the future. Also, the property manager Laurie was very nice and had great communication. Overall, a really great place.

Magical, majestic home away from home
Amazing property. Away from it all but still conveniently close. Gorgeous log cabin, loads of room, amazing trails and jaw dropping scenery. We loved it so much and already looking at our calendars for the next getaway so we can book it again. And as 2 former collegiate tennis players, the ping pong table was the best!!!

Comfortable, peaceful cabin in the woods
We had 7 people in our group, 2 adults and 5 teens. The cabin worked great for us. We all had space and the ping pong table was a hit. The surrounding area and trails were also nice. It was beautiful and serene add very relaxing! The only issues we had was a mouse in the kitchen late at night and some ants in the upstairs portion of the house, but they didn't bother us much. Overall it was a pleasant place to stay for a couple of days and check out the surrounding beauty.

Quiet and relaxing. Fully equipped. Loved the clawfoot tub. Only thing missing was a view of Mt Shasta from the cabin but it is only a short distance away. The wildlife in the morning was a real treat!

Lovely setting
At the end of a private road, the house is in a gorgeous setting. The house is roomy, light filled, and good for a group. My kids were able to sled on a hill right outside the house. The mattresses were old and no one slept great. The knives in the kitchen were very dull, and bring slippers because the wood floors gave us several splinters. But overall, we enjoyed our stay. The town of McCloud is cute, and 15 min away.

The property is magical! The views and ambiance is simply to die for. If you want a gettaway to recharge and just “be” this is the place. The three levels each have a bathroom and have plenty of space to spread out. It needs a few changes though like decent mattresses (the current ones are uncomfortable and very worn), adequate amount of paper products (we ran out of paper towels & toilet paper), & the wooden floors are in desperate need of sanding (even in thick, socked feet we all got splinters- we had to wear shoes at all times). Overall, this place is amazing! If they made a few simple changes, we would make this place our annual vacation home!

This cabin is exactly as advertised, however, the photos do not fully capture how stunning the location is. Perfect for those seeking peace and quiet, but so close to so many activities. Clean and well stocked. This was our second time staying here and would highly recommend it.

Nice place
This was a very nice VRBO. It seems to target large groups and wear is evident. On our stay the main door to the porch was broken, the microwave was broken, the floors quite scuffed and there was no water in the downstairs bathroom. So those are the negatives and we were told, except for the floors, they are all being addressed. It’s a large home, clunky as log cabins tend to be, but it has comfortable livingroom furniture and is equipped with the basics. Nicely located at the end of a potholed dirt road in a forested area with hillside walks behind the home that lead to a cleared area with a view of Mt. Shasta. It’s comfortable and spacious with a nice second story porch and located in a quite area. We enjoyed our stay.

Multi-generation vacation
Our family rented this lovely cabin for four nights during Thanksgiving Week. Plenty of space for four generations with three little ones. We were able to go on hikes from right outside the house, as well as visit several beautiful waterfalls close by.

Great place for a family gathering
We had a wonderful stay at Eagle's Rest for our family Thanksgiving gathering. We especially appreciated the covered porch and the outdoor trails as an easy way to get outside and enjoy nature, especially with a houseful of children. We also took hikes at the beautiful nearby Falls. The house is warm and inviting and we had some great ping pong tournaments in the rec room. Thanks so much, and I'm sure we will return!
