This is an old pub with rooms, not an hotel. It has a very definite charm. Supper was good standard pub fare. Breakfast was not available midweek but that was no hardship to us. I would definitely stay here again.
Stayed at the Windmill before and accommodation is excellent. Had 2 wonderful evening meals. Pet friendly.
Only let down on the last day was a boiler failure which meant no hot water and only a dribble of cold water. So no shower I’m afraid! Had to boil kettle to get hot water for a wash of sorts.
Staff very apologetic but couldn’t sort the issue before we had to leave.
Really lovely place to stay, gorgeous bedrooms, friendly staff and lovely food. I was sorry we only stayed a night - we hope to come back for longer next time!
The hotel was really lovely and comfortable.
They thought of everything you could possibly need, incuding individually wrapped ear plugs, in case of noisy next door guests! It was also so authentic in its decor
One of the greatest stays I have ever had great location best bed I have ever had and right next door a great pub. I often don't leave reviews but my experience here was excellent
This place was excellent. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The meals were top notch. The ambience was perfect. I would recommend the Windmill to anyone who wants a genuine and traditional British experience.
We had a fabulous stay there, the rooms were well equipped and furnished, very warm & homely, felt newly decorated yet reflected the heritage of the very old building that The Windmill is.
The breakfast is freshly cooked to order and was delicious and well presented.
Great place to stay, service and food was outstanding in the pub for dinner, the rooms were quirky and very clean, if you like an old building with character the windmill will be a good fit
We spent 3 nights there visiting family! This was a wonderful experience both for us and our sons! Service and care were top notch and I would certainly recommend that you stay here!
We had a great stay in this quirky little pub. Staff were very friendly.
Only downside was very noisy plumbing but can’t be helped in such an old building.
Breakfast was amazing and it is only a 20 minute walk to Leeds castle.
Great location as very handy for motorway but still nice and quiet. The room was very comfortable. Staff were great, very friendly. We had dinner and breakfast and both were delicious. We will definitely be back!
Lovely traditional inn in the village of Hollingbourne. So welcoming on arrival by Victoria who was a little gem. Nice garden to sit in and taste the local wine. Pet friendly too. Will definitely return!
Very pleasantly surprised by our stay here, the pictures do not do it justice.
Very comfy bed, fancy facilities like large very fluffy towels, very nice bathroom products, great selections of hot drinks.
Only thing I would say is that if you are very tall, be careful of the low ceilings!
We loved our one night stay at the Windmill! The staff are friendly and helpful and both the pub and rooms are just gorgeous. The place manages to be both light, airy and clean as well as rustic, homely and super cosy. We also had a delicious breakfast in the pub. We'll be back!
I took my wife to the windmill for 2 nights following a recommendation from my parents in law who had previously stayed and eaten there themselves and told us how good the food was.
We were not disappointed, the food was excellent, we benefited from steak night on the Thursday and fish night on the Friday which meant we got some free drinks with our meals. The skate on Friday night was a real treat for my wife who loves fish!
The staff were all friendly and attentive, with Oscar the head chef, going above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our food. A ‘happy birthday’ dessert was a really nice touch to an already lovely stay.
There is ample parking at the back of the pub and a really nice garden for warmer weather. Our room had a lot of character with wonky ceilings and floors but it’s what you would expect from an old building. The room itself was pristine in terms of cleanliness with everything you would expect to find in a hotel room.
I can’t recommend the windmill enough, but it’s really the staff, regulars (who were very friendly also) and the food which are the stand outs)
We will be heading back soon with our friend from Greece to give them the experience of a proper British pub!
