Why pay a cleaning fee if you have to do half the cleaning?
Grill is not usable - no brush provided. Dirty floors - property management only does surface cleaning. Crumbs and dirt under all furniture. Clean your own house after staying - property management company makes you drive 10 minutes to take the trash to the dumpster because there is no bear trash receptacle at property. In addition, you have to strip beds, start laundry, start dishwasher… and you get to pay the cleaning fee too! No streaming access - tv is not a smart tv, bring your own HDMI cord for laptop or fire stick. Slippery walkway - property management company did not salt, but we found some in the closet outside. Very dangerous slippery deck. Hot tub, fireplace, and shuttle to mountain are all great amenities. Dated, but nostalgic feeling cabin.

Place was great. Some quirks here and there but perfect for our family and teenage boys. Place was clean, Hot tub was hot, and location was great for hiking and hitting the bike park. Would definitely recommend!

Great house with more than enough room for my large family. The house is located within feet of many trails to hike. Absolutely beautiful location with plenty of space to run and play outside. We all had a wonderful vacation.

Wonderful ski vacation
Our family of six (two parents, three kids, one grandparent) had a great time at the cabin. The living room is very comfortable for six people and we cooked all of our meals in the kitchen. Everything is a bit dated, but it’s warm and the huge windows provide wonderful views of the winter wonderland outside. The shuttle picks you up right in front of the driveway, which was extremely convenient. The kids built a sledding track out back through the trees, which was great fun. Our youngest loved the sleeping nook off the living room, while our two older ones slept in the loft (which has two beds), and my dad slept in the upstairs bedroom. The master bedroom has large windows with beautiful views. Plenty of space for all. The washer and dryer are excellent, and the oven and dishwasher were in good condition also. Plenty of silverware, pots and pans, spices, oils, etc for everything we wanted to cook. Only downsides are that the toilet in the master bathroom clogs on almost every use, requiring plunging, and there is only one shower. It out some strain on the common bathroom but it wasn’t a huge deal.

A Good Stay!
We had enjoyed our stay and liked that this place was close to the Northstar ski resort and Raley’s. The shuttle service that was available for use was clutch! I would recommend this place for groups that are ~7 people.

Great place for skiing Northstar
We chose this place because it's convenient location to Northstar ski resort. The shuttle was very convenient. The place is really nice and we found the kitchen had everything we needed. Two days before the stay, we got a call saying the hot tub was not working so they were refunding me a small amount. If this is important, I would check ahead of time to make sure that it is working at the time of your stay. But overall this was a great place for me,spouse and 3 kids. There was an additional bed in the living room and a twin bed in the loft that we didn't use so I think this place would also be good for a larger than than my group of 5. thanks!

Bat Cave
Pros first - The check in process was simple, the neighborhood and location was very nice, the cabin was unique. Cons - the bathroom connected to the master bedroom clogged more than once. The overall cleanliness of the place was questionable. The kitchen could use a lot more utensils, pans and gas stove. The bigger issue was the flurry of bats that would fly in and out of the alcove off the front door step every night! It was hard to enjoy dining on the deck or a late night dip in the tub with the constant family of bats flying around your head. I wanted to like this place, but I would not recommend it.

Close to the mountain
This place was just what we needed to be close to Northstar ski resort. You were on the shuttle line so you didn't have to drive. Our mountain visits were cut very short due to the Coronavirus, we only got to snowboard 1 day and then they closed all the mountains. They had something like 41" of snow in 3 days but the clean up crew was there every morning so you could make it out the door. Inside was cozy but the kitchen really could use a facelift, mostly just the cabinets. If you're staying in the master bedroom, be prepared to hear the heater every time it turns on, it's pretty loud. This is a good place to stay for sure, the things I mentioned are minimal.

Relaxing Ski Week with Family
This is the 2nd time our family stayed at this house and it is the perfect size for us. Our kids are 18, 14 and 11, and they all had their own space and we had beds to spare.. It is listed as 2 bedrooms, but the loft, which has 2 twin beds is essentially a 3rd bedroom, and the day-bed is also a private bed-room space complete with storage shelves, light switches and outlets to charge devices. The dog enjoyed napping in the snow on the fenced-in deck, and there is also an enclosed mud-room at the entry which made a great spot to leave the dog when we were not there. We especially like Northstar, the shuttle's are so easy to use, just download the app and request a shuttle when you are ready to go. We enjoyed skiing, skating, eating, drinking and shopping in the village. We also visited the game room of the rec center a few times to play ping-pong, air-hockey and pool (for free), as well as coin operated games. Since the shuttle app is so easy to use, we could all come and go when we pleased. We will be back to this place!

Great Place, Really Nice Home
Exactly as described on the VRBO web site. Also, excellent relatively new barbeque, we used and loved the hot tub, and great stocking of kitchen in terms of utensils, cooking pots/pans, etc... Really nice floor plan and super comfortable. We liked it so much we cancelled our dinner reservations at the fondue place to just stay home and eat at the rental!

Perfect weekend getaway from The City! Probably best for families not a romantic weekend.
Great location for a weekend getaway from San Francisco but probably better suited for families with children. The house was clean and stocked with basic spices, lots of cookware and plates, cups, silverware. Blinds or window coverings would be nice in the living-room because it isn’t very private to get cozy with someone in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine with everyone that drives by looking in on you. only things that could use a little improvements would have been someone checking the battery for the thermostat as it was dead and we had to leave to buy replacements for them after driving almost 4 hours. the walkway and patio/hot-tub deck could have been swept off as it was covered in evergreen needles, and there were about 10 old cigarette butts on the walkway outside the entryway to the main door. Also, being asked to start a load of dirty towels in the washer and being charged a $250 cleaning fee is a little excessive.

Wonderful house; significant problems with the property managment company
The house is beautiful, in a perfect location (out the front door- 14 miles of hiking trails, and a shuttle bus to come pick you up to go skiing or visit the Village), and was a wonderful home base. The house itself is not fancy, but very comfortable. Plenty of space for our family of four. Unfortunately, we had significant problems with broken appliances. We were there for 7 days and 6 of the 7 did not have a working refrigerator. The oven door is also broken which results in a challenge in trying to maintain oven temperatures. We reported these issues as soon as we noticed them (fridge on day 1, oven a few days in). We were understanding that this was over the Christmas holiday and it was hard to get maintenance staff out to the house. We requested a partial refund given that we basically didn't have a working kitchen over the Christmas holiday. The manager still has not responded, via email or phone, to our repeated requests for some kind of refund. In general, they were very slow to respond, and didn't seem to take the problem seriously that we were left without a working kitchen over the holidays in a rental house we paid good $$ for. The house is great, but I wouldn't recommend renting here until there is a different (or improved) rental agency managing the upkeep.

Great well furnished home to act as base for all our family activities!
We stayed at Deer Path for 10 days during the month of July. We chose this home because of its size, quiet neighborhood location within Northstar and all its amenities, and it had a Hot Tub, a must for us! The home is well equipped with all the basics, but as skilled cooks, we benefited by bringing our knives and pantry items, which were needed. We cooked most meals in, packing picnics for get-aways during the day. Our dogs were delighted to have an enclosed porch area so they could come and watch us hot tub without leaving the grounds. We were there during a heat wave of over 90 degrees, so you will use the box fans if staying during the summer time. Remember to close the house up for the day, and open at sunset to start cooling it down; no air conditioning in Tahoe! Also, we could park a car in the garage which was a plus. We will stay at this home again in the future and thoroughly enjoyed our time here!
