"A very convenient location for staying in Waimea-- there are two supermarkets and one health store across near by. Several restaurants/coffee shops within a mile and a lovely 1 mile (2 mile round trip) nature path across the street. It is a bit of a drive to Kona or Hilo but still accessible. Email the hotel with your information (email address) even if you intend to check in before 4 PM (flight delays etc) so they can email you with how to check in after hours. Staff were friendly in person and on the phone. In addition to a coffee maker, my standard room had a mini fridge which allowed me to store snacks/produce w/o fear of spoilage or pests."

"I loved Mitsuko's space. It is beautiful, peaceful, and a short drive to many gorgeous beaches. Most important, Mitsuko is kind and considerate and I felt completely at home and safe there. Also, we really appreciated the beach gear - big towels, snorkeling equipment, umbrellas (yes, you'll need them) and beach chairs. Thank you again for wonderful hospitality."

"We have been coming to the Hawaiian Islands now for about 5 years. This home met all expectations and more. The owners are responsive to requests and comments and obviously take pride in their house The beds are very comfortable, the home was very clean, the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for cooking, you can eat at the island or sit in the formal dinning room that sits 8 people, the bathrooms are large and spacious, the covered patio is a great place to sit on to enjoy the beauty of the landscape around you or to watch the stars at night. Waking up to the sounds of the birds singing is a great start to your day. I could go on and on about how great this place is. You can't go wrong. You do need a car, however, the home is located minutes from some of the nicest sandy beach’s on the Island Spencer Beach, Hapuna Beach, Beach 67, Beach 69, wonderful farmers markets in Waimea, Waikoloa (A beach) and Waikoloa Village. The Ala Khaki National HistoricTrail is a great hike and if you start your Hike at the Spencer Beach Visitor Center you get an idea of the history of the area and an understanding of how the Island began. "This place was the perfect home base for an amazing, adventure-filled vacation on Kona. We travelled to Kona with our 3 kids (ages 7, 10, 12), and location was perfect for beach days to Hapuna and Spencer beaches a stone's throw away. One day I even jogged from the house to the beach for some exercise. Lots of great food in Waimea when we wanted to eat out, and well stocked kitchen when we wanted to eat in. The grill was great for grilling kebabs one night, and hamburgers another. Overall the place was very clean, and very well stocked with about anything you could need. The hosts were amazing. Super responsive and helpful. They made us feel so welcome, with toys and boogie boards set out for the kids, and some delicious warm fresh baked bread when we arrived. Highly recommend!"
