While we love Hammock Beach for a quick get away, it needs some updating. We stayed in the ocean rooms this time and I do love being closer to the view. My patio was so peaceful. The service this weekend was less than standard and was disappointing knowing they should be ready for a Mother’s Day crowd. All that said, we will come back. It’s affordable and close by.

This hotel had so much to offer and the entire staff was excellent. From the moment we arrived, we were treated so well at check in. Everyone was pleasant and eager to make our stay wonderful. There was a nice selection of restaurants, and the hotel grounds, pool areas and beach were beautiful and well maintained.

Typical older military installation with many dated buildings. However there is a new commissary - but avoid at end of month due to payday for active and retired. The Base Exchange (BX) is dated but large and well-maintained. Avoid 3-4PM as traffic leaving base and adjacent Roosevelt Blvd. is horrendous. Satellite pharmacy is convenient (across from BX). Also has a family water park open during warm months.
