IMPORTANT TO DETERMINE IF THIS IS THE RIGHT PROPERTY FOR YOU:
This house is on a block with old and new. You will see some run down homes and newly renovated homes. There is a corner store on the opposite corner of the property where neighbors tend to loiter. Some guests have felt uncomfortable with this. Some guests have not been comfortable with this area at night. Other guests have been perfectly fine with the environment. If you have lived in a major (ex NYC, SF, ATL, MIA) city before, this will be no surprise. If you are from elsewhere, we just want to make sure you feel safe here. We lived here with our young kids and felt safe but everyone is different!

This is the top floor unit of a duplex (bottom floor is separate residence). You will have the entire top floor to yourself. We also rent out the bottom floor so if you have a larger group and are looking to rent both units to have to yourself then check out our other listing or message us.

If you love old historic homes with architectural details then you will love this place. We have gently renovated to preserve the beautiful old charm but also upgraded the bathrooms and kitchen to the modern amenities that we all love. We have decorated the space to make it feel like you are living in the 1920's. We love it and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

We love historic Springfield which is located in Jacksonville adjacent to the downtown area. It is centrally located so that you can explore all Jacksonville has to offer. Springfield itself has 3 breweries, several local restaurants, and all the historic neighborhood charm.

There is a large park system called the Henry J. Klutho Park. This is a great park that has a children's playground, a dog park, frisbee golf course, baseball fields, and many others. There are views of downtown from this park so go have a picnic and enjoy the scenery.

Since Springfield is centrally located, you can get to most points of interest in less than 15 minutes by car.

This unit is located on the 2nd floor so you will have to climb a flight of stairs.

Cute Interior - Very Sketchy Area
We enjoyed our stay here and the inside was very nice and up-to-date, however, the area and neighborhood that the duplex is in was very run down and felt unsafe. There were a group of people constantly hanging out on the street corner rightby the duplex and we also witnessed someone using drugs. I wish the atmosphere of location would have been communicated more in the Vrbo listing.

Great place, loved the flexibility
I live in Jacksonville and needed a place for homecoming weekend for my fraternity brothers to have a home base for the weekend. Initially, we planned to be at the college most of the time but the college put Covid restrictions up and changed the plan. The owners were gracious enough to work with us through our fluid planning as we would have people free flowing all weekend. We loved the place so much we will get it again but get both floors.

Spacious and comfortable for a large family
We enjoyed that the entire family could sleep comfortably and had plenty of space. The home was clean and was stocked with everything we could possibly need. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy and suspicious at times. We could not find any pizza places that delivered to the home. Overall, the stay was comfortable and exactly what was need for our stay. It’s a beautiful home with lots of character.

It was close to downtown and easily accessible! Check in was simple.
Overall we had a great experience. The place is kept very clean and very close to downtown Jacksonville. Outlets in both bathrooms were not working (maybe there was a switch that needed to be turned on?) but other than that, thr place was great. Parts of the neighborhood looked a bit hard, but we never had any issues at all.

Very Nice Apartment in Up-And-Coming Springfield Area
We really enjoyed our stay, the apartment is very nicely furnished and decorated. The rooms are big and the beds are really comfortable. The kitchen is brand new and all the appliances are spotless! The only negative are the intimidating groups of guys that gather on the corner opposite the apartment. You would not want to walk this neighborhood after dark. That is outside of the control of the host obviously but I mention it in case other families are considering the location. Overall we enjoyed our stay and are very happy we chose this apartment.
