Secreto is now our home away from home! We go to Isla Mujeres at least once a year and we won’t stay anywhere else! The ladies at the desk are all amazing! Angel on the roof is great!

This hotel is a hidden gem, located a short walk from all the action and top beaches, but tucked away in a quiet alcove with a stunning pool that overlooks a deserted beach, which I had to myself whenever I wanted it. Everything is spotlessly clean. The lovely staff are super-friendly and helped with dinner recommendations, found a therapist to give me a massage within 10 minutes, even though it was the usual ladies day off and couldn’t be friendlier. The bar by the pool makes delicious (strong!) cocktails. The gym is quite basic (and very hot - give it 10 mins for the AC and all the fans to take effect!!!) but does what it needs to do (unless you’re after cardio). Loved it so much I stayed an extra night. Strong recommendation!

We prefer this type of smaller resort feel. Secreto is in good condition, but you need to appreciate the modern style, sacrificing drawers / closet storage space.

Secluded Oasis

The hotel felt very secluded and had a nice sand beach area. Not a beach for swimming. Too rocky but you can walk along the sand to a nice swimming beach (Playa Norte). Nice spa for massages. Beautiful patio with lounge bed with an ocean view. Highly recommend booking an ocean view Rooftop restaurant/bar. Great view at sunset! Easy walk to shopping and dining. Can rent a golf cart which makes it nice!

The hotel was delightful, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Unfortunately Isla Mujeres does not have great food. This is not my first time to the island. We tried three of the recommended restaurants. All were mediocre at best. Secreto is wonderful!

This was our first time at this property. We had stayed close to it before so we knew the area. The staff was friendly and helpful, Eileen was a blessing when it came to any concierge service we needed. The roof top bar offered a spectacular view.

Very nice comfortable room! Secluded but easy walking to Hidalgo for food and shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Saw several loggerhead sea turtles come on the the hotel beach to lay their eggs.

Just got back from a week long stay with my husband. I can’t say enough great things about the property. Clean, friendly, secluded, but close to the hustle and bustle. Felt very safe. Our room had a fridge and safe. Coffee and water refilled every day. We stayed in one of the standard rooms, no view but the room was still beautiful. We can’t wait to come back and stay in an ocean front room. Only place well stay on the island!

Beautiful boutique hotel with stellar service and amenities. Even though the non-ocean view rooms are microscopically tiny and basic (no chair in the room because there is no room for anything beside the bed, no irons, no balcony, suitcase is wedged in front of closet area that is almost unusable because it’s so small and the bar to hang clothes on is so high it’s almost out of reach unless you are tall), I would still stay here again because it’s a perfect walkable location to Playa Norte and everything you want to access there, but also quiet and secluded feeling. Next time hopefully in one of the 12 ocean-front rooms, which book up fast.

Tucked away just off the main streets of downtown Isla Mujeres, Hotel Secreto is a true hidden gem. This secure, boutique hotel offers card-only access and a peaceful retreat from the island’s hustle and bustle. We stayed in a first-floor room with a private patio overlooking the pool and a partial view of the ocean. It featured a table, chairs, and a cozy lounging bed—the perfect spot to unwind. The pool was a nightly favorite for us, with just the right temperature to relax under the stars while listening to the gentle sound of ocean waves. We were even lucky enough to spot sea turtles nesting along the shore—truly unforgettable! The staff were friendly and helpful when approached, with small touches like opening the front door for us daily so we didn’t need to pull out our key card. The pool and rooftop bar attendants were also very kind and welcoming. While the hotel is quiet and restful, two small notes: the air fresheners used throughout are a bit strong, and the room could benefit from a ceiling or portable fan. That said, this hotel is an incredible value. The property is kept exclusive—only guests and rooftop bar patrons are allowed—which made it feel private and serene. We’ll absolutely be back when staying on the north end of the island. Highly recommended for couples or solo travelers seeking tranquility and charm.

The rooms are fantastic and comfortable. The location is very close to the North Beach area while having a nice pool. The service was impeccable. The front door is hard to find the first time as there isn't really a sign. And we didn't have an ocean view room, but we really weren't in the room much anyway and it was perfect for everything we needed it to be.
