With some of the most spectacular mountain peaks in the Dolomites, this area is an ideal spot for skiing, snowboarding and other outdoor activities.

Fassa Valley is known for its stunning snowy mountains and valleys. Wander through Alpine villages and learn about the lives of the native Ladin people, who speak their own language and possess their own distinctive culture and traditions. Try delicious bread dumplings, cheeses and pastas in local family-run restaurants.

This picturesque valley community consists of many municipalities, each with their own special attractions. Browse local handicrafts and art in Soraga, one of the more scenic and peaceful towns in the valley. Head to Pozza di Fassa for top-class skiing and snowboarding. This area hosts international winter sports competitions and training sessions for the national ski team.

One of the larger towns in the valley, Moena is located just a short drive from the powder slopes and wilderness areas of the Tre Valli ski area. While you’re in Moena, visit the 12th-century San Vigilio Church, home to 18th-century artworks by Italian painter Valentino Rovisi.

Admire the breathtaking snow-covered mountains around the Vigo di Fassa region. Take a cable car to the striking panoramic plateau of Ciampedìe. This municipality preserves Ladin culture in the Fassa Ladin Museum and the Ladin Cultural Institute. Both of these facilities are found in the village of San Giovanni.

This mountain destination also offers abundant opportunities to relax. Discover spas, well-being centers and indoor swimming pools. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride or a leisurely stroll along a walking trail. Shop for hand-knitted woolen clothing and handmade decorations in one of the small villages.

Use daily public transport to travel between the villages and municipalities in Fassa Valley. The valley can be also reached via bus services operating out of northern Italian cities, such as Trento and Bolzano. Stay in ski resorts or available hotels and cabins in one of the villages. Fassa Valley is about 29 miles (47 kilometers) from Bolzano Airport.

With its mountain views, outdoor activities and charming Alpine villages, Fassa Valley makes a great year-round vacation destination.
