Very convenient for a one night stay before cruise. Watch out for those gables in the rooms above the bed, very low and dangerous for your forehead. Breakfast was exceptional.

Nice bed and breakfast in a residential neighborhood. Short walk to the river . Food was excellent. It was a bit of a job getting our luggage up and down the stairs.

I read reviews before we stayed and saw it was ‘quirky’. Well that’s the one word for it. It’s an old converted building with so much clutter, old furniture and dust. I can’t even fully describe what a strange set up it was. I will say the bedding appeared clean as did the towels and thankfully the rooms were not carpeted. The breakfast had a couple selections including quiche, waffles and fresh made muffins but I was reluctant to eat anything not pre packaged. If you are not able to use the stairs- don’t stay here. We were fine but I couldn’t help wonder about anyone with mobility issues. The wife seemed friendly but we had little interaction with her. The husband was rude. Maybe he had a tough day. I wouldn’t stay here again no matter what the price was.

We choose to stay here because it was more affordable than other options. If that is your priority than this is probably a fine place to stay. The property did seem to be older and it showed. The main area did not seem very clean and was very cluttered. The room we slept in was clean enough. I probably wouldn't choose to stay here again but it worked for the quick night we spent here.

Room was comfortable with micro, frig, and stove as well as dishes and coffepot. HD fton and chair to sit on as well. Large bathroom Doors need soft closure so it doesn't slam. Nice area around the facility. Parking lot needs work. Breakfast had a full selection from eggs to cereal, and much more. Wish the breakfast hours would start earlier so I could have grabbed a bite before leaving. I would stay there again when I'm in Fairbanks. But I would stay again.

I prefer non chain even though can be on scale from charming to quirky to avoid. For me, this fell in quirky range. Appreciate late night check in but then flights from lower 48 seem to mostly be arriving late night. Only needed to stay one night. Bed was comfortable for me. Asked for ground floor since traveling with heavy luggage. After 18 hours travel, 4 hour time difference, and arriving 130 am local time (530 am “my time”, it was confusing to be sent down the road to second property. Paper map provided was NOT to scale and a clearer map would have helped my travel fog brain (I make maps as secondary part of my job). For me, fine for an overnight only. Not the closest to airport. But mid May seems like perpetual twilight in Fairbanks with little traffic and well marked streets. GPS directions to main place were accurate.

7 Gables Inn is a quaint bed and breakfast , filled with old world charm and warm inviting atmosphere. I arrived quite late and was welcomed by one of the owners. Check-in was in a lovely kitchen, where I was offered home baked cookies. There is a waterfall feature in the foyer and I was fortunate enough to book the waterfall room. Vintage furniture , beautiful vintage decor and bedding all added so much comfort and enjoyment to my stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was immaculately cleaned, and there was a desk, wifi. tv and even a dvd player. The bath was large with a jetted tub, so nice after a day of travel. Breakfast each morning was homemade by the lovely wife and included an inviting variety of things sure to please anyone’s taste. Breakfast is served family style in the upstairs kitchen, where the tables are set with lovely China and real silverware. I enjoyed hearing native Alaskans tell stories of their heritage and folklore while having coffee in the living room and continuing as we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The home is open to wander and there are so many treasures to see, the greenhouse entrance to the Inn, the bookcases filled with interesting books and the cross-stitched names on each guest room. Oh and the incredible stained glass throughout. This place is not like a chain hotel, it is like staying at the home of a favorite relative. The price is also very affordable for the area!
