The Resident Edinburgh brings a polished, distinctly Scottish mood to the West End, surrounded by Georgian and Victorian streetscapes and an easy mix of shops, cafes, and restaurants. Inside, the palette nods to the Saltire and Craigleith sandstone, while rooms add subtle local touches like thistle motifs and commissioned Edinburgh artwork. Each stay comes with a signature mini-kitchen featuring a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules and BRITA-filtered water on tap.

Great location in Edinburgh. Easily walkable into the town centre and quiet. Tram system nearby. The staff were friendly and efficient. Nice and clean. Very well appointed.
This is a very nice new hotel in a great location. Lots of restaurants around and walking distance to a number of interesting places. The staff was wonderful and responded to our requests quickly. The only downsides are - small rooms and no restaurant so you have to venture out for every meal. But otherwise a lovely stay.
Everything was perfect. The Staff excellent, the well appointed took and kitchen. Great Air conditioning during summer. We extended our stay with them. Highly recommend.
I specifically would like to commend Ed! Amazing from start to finish! Probably the kindest person I've ever encountered at a front desk. So wonderful! Our stay was comfortable and the housekeeping staff were also lovely. Genuinely would recommend The Resident to anyone. Well placed, staff were great, would stay here any time I'm in Edinburgh.
As always, our stay was amazing. Staff are incredibly helpful and the rooms are pristine. We always stay here when visiting Edinburgh. This was the first time we had any issues though, the lamp in the room wasn’t working and the toilet flush seems to get stuck. These are very minor issues and everything else was amazing! The rooms are equipped brilliantly. Thank you!
Smaller room than what we are accustomed to but the quality was outstanding and the service was absolutely fantastic. They thought of everything a guest would need.
Helpful and friendly staff. Kitchen area was ideal. Luxurious towels and toiletries provided. Located close to all major attractions but in a quiet area, which suited us perfectly. Plenty of eating places nearby.
Great location. On arrival offered complimentary tea and coffee. Room was available early. All rooms contain a small kitchen area. Complimentary drinks 5-6pm.
Staff all very pleasant and helpful.
Everything was beautiful and perfect. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again.
This hotel was amazing to stay at while visiting the city. It was really nice and the staff were great. Plus the Nespresso machine was a huge bonus for us.
