Room was very clean and the staff were super helpful and and attentive. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to the National Galleries and close to a variety of excellent restaurants.

Stuff we’re super friendly, rooms were clean Great location shower was odd, as it took up the whole room as water was everywhere. TV was slow to work. Despite minor things, our stay was great and affordable

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room, although several stairs to negotiate (up to 3 floor and no lift.) We requested a room with least no. of stairs and they were very accommodating. Great breakfast (extra cost). Within 5 minutes walk of several excellent restaurants and large shopping mall.

This hotel is very nice. It is very conveniently located, just a block from the train and bus stations as well as old city center of Edinburgh. The staff gave me a free upgrade to a suite which was wonderful, except that this was the “ literary suite” with 3 full-size paintings of famous Scottish authors on the wall, staring at you…

A fine old Edinburgh Town House with spectacular views over the Firth of Forth to Fine. One note of caution, though: no. 36 has no lifts. The exercise did me good, but for some guests this may be an issue. O/w a terrific hotel.

Great walkable location. Staff is very friendly and effective for quick requests. Clean place. Only complaint is that our bed was very uncomfortable, lumpy and hard. Would recommend they invest in new plush mattresses.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel good for a reasonably priced stay. On a busy road though, with trams and buses going by, so try to get room away from the front of the Hotel.
