"A gorgeous property with tip-top service, but priced accordingly. We stayed in the smallest, most modestly priced room which was a bit cramped, but appointed beautifully. This is the sort of place with uniformed staff and maid turn-down service that leaves chocolate treats and a personal note on the bed. Even our small room was pricey. But the exquisite environment made up for the tight sleeping space. This sprawling 500-year old convent has massive stone walls, high-ceilings and beautiful manicured courtyards. You can get lost in the many corridors, plazas and gardens. It is right in the heart of town -- walkable anywhere. But the best part is that it is a haven of calm and quiet in the midst of the traffic and tourist chaos. A great joy is having a cold drink and watching the exotic birds in the courtyard trees. Highly recommended, if you can afford it. "

"This is a wonderful place to stay in Oaxaca! It is a building probably from the late '70's or early '80's but has been maintained very well. Our standard room was spacious with two queen size beds and decent linens. The restaurant was very good for breakfasts at very reasonable prices All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were able to walk into the centro in 25-30 minutes. Do not miss Los Paco's, a 10 minute walk and Los Cuerdos a 15 minute walk for the dinners ever!"

"Rooma are large and clean, not much wardrobe space. But ok for 1. Stayed for week,hotel is 600m from center of Oaxaca but the walk is fairly pleasant and easy. Half way during my atay they opened the outside area whixh gave somewhere to sit in the shade "
