The first sight upon entering this villa is the breathtaking view across the infinity pool into Stavros sea and mountain, famous from the 1964 Oscar nominated film “Zorbas the Greek” with Anthony Quinn. Our villa is the house where Anthony Quinn (Alexis Zorbas) lived in and the beach in front of the villa is the beach where he danced the famous “syrtaki”.
The villa features a infinity edge swimming pool and sunbathing terrace with luxurious high quality sun loungers and umbrellas. Sometimes, especially in the evening is very difficult to distinguish the pool water from the water of the sea… The outdoor seating area, complete with pizza oven, BBQ, bar and lounge area, provides guests with ample space to enjoy outdoor living at its very finest, both day and night, with glamorous lighting illuminating the terraces once evening sets. Surrounded by a luxuriant Mediterranean garden and stoned terraces, its gates will lead you directly into the limpid, translucent waters of Stavro's sea... unless, of course, you prefer the infinity pool and its hydromassage corner!
The patio, filled with climbing plants and geraniums is the perfect place to enjoy breakfasts and lunches on the shaded terrace where the island’s brisk breezes the cool area.
An ideal place for our little ones also where they can enjoy themselves on the playground and the basketball court.
Every year we are trying to improve your staying and we are updating our facilities.
We added a luxurious swing chair with stand and a very comfortable huge chair...It s difficult to describe it, it s better to seat on it.
We also provide a professional ping pong table and a new football table with telescoping steel rods and steel ball bearings.
Step back in time and spend an idyllic holiday experiencing Cretan living from a beautifully restored village house on the historic island of Crete.

The villa was incredible! This place has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. It is ideally located, and a great place for a base as you explore Chania and beyond. The host was fantastic and very helpful throughout our stay. We will be back sometime.

Amazing villa with Incredible people
It was a dream ,we cannot decide which part of our holidays was better.The location of the villa, the pool, the outdoor area or the people who own and manage the property.It s the first time i feel so grateful for a person who I never met before.Manolis the manager made us feel as a part of his family.The owners also was very kind and they really care for this amazing house. I know that this villa is sold out every summer and I can understand the reason.We hope we will be back

Fabulous property and owners / manager
We originally booked during the pandemic and had to change dates. This was done without question. From arriving late at night and having both the owners and manager meet us, everything was perfect. Manolis even came partway through our stay with some sweet and savoury treats! Nothing was too much trouble and I would have no hesitation in recommending this property. It’s about a 25 minute drive to Chania with an abundance of restaurants and the old town and port. A handful of local restaurants within 2 minutes and 2 mini markets just up the road. The outdoor space was superb and the photos don’t do it justice. We loved the basketball and the table tennis and can’t speak highly enough of Dimitrios and Manolis who provided a welcome package and everything we needed for a perfect week in the sun! The beach is literally at the end of the pool, the airport less than 15 minutes away. What more could we have asked for?!

This is a lovely villa in a great location on a sandy beach. Perfect place for a beach holiday, but with Chania and its many restaurants and bars nearby. The villa couldn't be faulted, and the pool, basketball court and play areas make it a treasure for all the family. Upon arrival the kitchen was stocked with all essentials which was very kind of the owners, Dimitrios and his wife. The manager of the property, Manolis, is a lovely person and was always available and helpful. He and the owners kindly brought over a moussaka and baclava during our stay - we have stayed in many nice villas, but have never had such wonderful treatment. This is a really special place to stay. Nearby there are a couple of good markets for daily needs and there is a big supermarket 10 mins drive away. The local taverna, Irene, is really excellent. The villa and beach are so nice that it was hard to make the decision to go out for a day trip! But if you do, Elaphonisos is an amazing and unique place about 90 mins drive away. However, it's crowded even in September so I can't imagine how full it must get in the peak season. This is a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday, and we will for sure be back in a couple of years.

Idyllic home on the beach
Can’t say enough nice things about this home and the host. Better than the photos! Spacious, well appointed, amazing outdoor space, good kitchen, comfortable for at least 6 people and right on a great beach for swimming, snorkeling or just lying around. Manos the host is amazing...great local tips, brought us moussaka and some amazing sweet creation and was always ready to help with anything. Stravros is 25min to Chania by car but close, to plenty of good restaurants. Definitely will come back!

Almost Perfect
Beautifully restored property with lots of extras like luxury toiletries, fruit basket and groceries, with thick fluffy towels and bathrobes and slippers provided. The house provided everything for a enjoyable time. After a busy year we were seeking privacy and relaxation and found that the uninterrupted view of the beach also meant an uninterrupted view of you. The trees surrounding the garden dining table provided the only natural shade on the beach and unfortunately people flocked to sit under them. You will get lines of people the other side of the glass panels less than 2 feet from the pool. They will stare at you a lot and take your photograph. I personally found this embarrassing but may not be an issue for others. This is obviously outside the control of the owner being a public beach but there was more privacy on the beach than around the pool. The pool is very beautiful but unheated, in fact it was very cold. We found the sea much warmer. If you have young children you should also be aware that its minimum depth was around 4 feet rising very quickly to 6 feet deep. The owner however did provide excellent facilities such as the basket ball court and ping pong table. There is also a wonderful full children’s playground. This is a wonderful property but as the only private villa adjacent to the beach we did feel a bit on display.

Just perfect
What an amazing location. The villa is spectacular and the grounds are out of this world. The villa location is perfect , right in the beach and the pool and garden areas are just wonderful. Manos went out of his way to provide a lot of local information and was available to be contacted any time. There are a number of tavernas within a short walk of the villa which was great for the evenings. Would totally recommend and wouldn’t want to change a thing about the villa and the service provided - wonderful.

Paradise!
Pictures can’t truly describe this magnificent property, pool, and location. The house had everything we needed for our 10 day stay and my teenage kids were never bored of swimming, hiking, playing basket ball and table tennis or just laying by the pool. There are few restaurants and markets within walking distance of the property, but we enjoyed venturing out or cooking at home. One of our favorite close by restaurants was Irene, which was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Although this is a great property, Manolis is what makes it special. He is very attentive and a pleasure to work with. He checked on us every few days to make sure we have everything we need. He knows the area like the back of his hand and had lots of good suggestions for food and activities. We enjoyed eating at places that mostly locals go to and enjoyed every restaurant and activity he recommended. Make sure to ask him about boat rides and beaches to visit. Marmara was a great hit with our family and we could have spent half a day there swimming and jumping off rocks. More than anything we enjoyed the home made mosaka from Manolis, it was the best!! We even had it for breakfast the next day. Thank you again Manolis for making our stay so memorable and we will certainly be back to visit this beautiful villa.

A slice of heaven
This is a stunning place surrounded by natural beauty. Our teenage kids were happy with the outdoor activities and it’s a close drive into Chania for the restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here. Manolis and Dimitri are first class hosts and could not have done more for us.

Beautiful Villa in an unspoiled area
We stayed for 12 days in this Villa. The villa is traditional style as you can see from the pictures and everything was in excellent order and very comfortable. Stunning views and beautiful swimming in both the pool and the sea. We took the challenge and walked / climbed to the cave up the mountain, it was a challenge but the stunning view is a great reward. It was slightly out of season so some of the local Tavernas were closed but that really didn't matter. The owner and agent were perfect hosts providing everything we could need along with plenty of Crete information. The homemade Mousaka and Baklava delivered by the agent was a fantastic touch and very welcomed after a rainy day exploring the tiny Chania streets and harbour. I would highly recommend this place and we will be visiting again. Thanks Sarah & Andy

Wonderful property in the most perfect location
Myself, my wife and our 15-month old son, have just returned from a 2-week stay and have nothing but positive things to say. As previous reviews have covered, the villa is immaculately presented, the grounds have everything you need to keep all ages entertained, and the proximity and beauty of the beach/bay is mind blowing. Manolis and Dimitris are incredibly attentive and helpful hosts. They made sure our son had every piece of bedding and towels he could need (without us asking), and on our one wet day, brought us a delicious, homemade moussaka and amazing cake. The kitchen was also stocked on our arrival with water, wine, fruit, eggs, and bread, which was really helpful with a hungry baby. Whilst the local tavernas are great, because of how well the kitchen is equipped, most of the time we chose to cook at home. You really can't beat enjoying a meal and glass of wine, with the sun going down, watching the fishermen coming in. Very relaxing holiday, couldn't fault the villa, location, amenities or hosts. We will be back!

Wonderful and special stay in beautiful location
The property and its location is absolutely amazing. You are literally right on the beach with the sea breeze and it is lovely. Our boys really enjoyed the pool, basketball court and table tennis. Having these in the house means you can relax but that the kids have enough to keep them entertained. We ate out at the nearby restaurant with the windmill (which was really good) but also enjoyed staying in and using the BBQ and pizza oven area of the gardens. A trip into Chania is well worth it. Manolis was very friendly and helpful - the baklava was very tasty. We would thoroughly recommend this holiday home - it is absolutely beautiful and will not disappoint.

Perfect relaxing family holiday destination!
Everything that has been said in the previous reviews is true & we too absolutely loved this beautiful villa & Cretan hospitality. Dimitris the owner & Manolis the property manager were extremely helpful, generous [giving us local food specialities] & kind throughout, even supplying 'Zorba the Greek' film for us to watch, which was great. They have added a new 'table football' so with the table tennis, basket ball, bikes, playground for little ones, lovely [natural chlorine] pool, clear blue sea & sandy beach a step away, there is more than enough to keep all ages very happy indeed! We loved the bay and the tavernas [esp.the windmill one] and the fact that this is a quiet unspoilt area, with No noisy jet skis or motor boats. Frequent cooling sea breeze and very few mozzies an added bonus! The bus goes approx. every 2 hours from down the road to Chania for 2.30 Euros, a scenic 35 min.ride well worth doing if you want to go shopping, enjoy a few beers and a nice meal [so many restaurants to choose from, all along the beautiful harbour] at sunset. There is much more to see & visit across the island, but to be honest we loved the villa, garden, pool & locality so much [& just being able to completely unwind from busy London] that we did not feel the need to venture too far! Thank you so much Dimitris and Manolis,for everything, already looking forward to next time!

A fabulous property for a relaxing family holiday
We booked this property on the basis of the other great reviews then hoped for the best. We were not disappointed. It was the perfect place for two weeks of relaxation. The villa is comfortable and very well equipped. It is maintained to a very high standard. The pool is a delight and you can always find the perfect spot to sit in the garden or by the pool (in the sun or shade, with the sea breeze or sheltered). There was plenty to keep our t(w)eens occupied - basketball, table tennis, table football, snorkelling kit etc - not to mention excellent wifi! There is access directly onto the beach. The bay is great for swimming, and it is easy to keep an eye on family members in the sea from the villa. The owners and agent are charming and hospitable. They looked after us wonderfully. As others have mentioned it is close to Stavros, which with its selection of cafes/tavernas (8 in a short walking distance) and a couple of nearby shops with all the basics we saw as an advantage. We would very happily return.

Beautiful home in lovely Stavros
Simply beautiful historic home with luxurious updates. Closer than we'd expected to the lovely village of Stavros but this was very convenient because of close tavernas. The beach is beautiful and there's a great hike up the mountain overlooking the protected bay. Thank you to Manilos for his expertise and kindness. This is a one of a kind vacation home perfect for families.

Paradise on the beach
Where the pool touches the sea is not an exaggeration! This beautiful villa is located right on the lovely beach at Stavros bay but is so private, you hardly know anyone else is in the resort. The facilities - the lovely infinity pool, BBQ, basketball court, table tennis, play area - and the house and terraces are meticulously maintained and there is plenty of room for up to 6. We were delighted to meet the owners who left us a fully stocked kitchen for our immediate needs and also gave us a tasty homemade meal during the week. The agent, Manolis, couldn't have been more helpful. We'd like to keep this gem a secret so we can keep coming back but in fairness, we have to thoroughly recommend it!

A beautiful property in a fantastic location.
This is a great place to stay. Stavros is a lovely place, some spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches. The villa has a stunning location overlooking and next to the sweep of the beach. The facilities at the villa are first class, the swimming pool and pool area, the basketball court, barbecue area, beautiful seating areas on all sides of the house so there's always a sheltered spot wherever the wind is blowing from. Inside the villa is very well equipped and tastefully decorated. The real winner though is the attention to detail which make this a great holiday let - the planting in the garden, the bathrobes and linen, the soaps and shampoos, the provision of wine, fruit and basic groceries on arrival, the well-equipped kitchen. Owner friendly and helpful if needed. We really enjoyed our week in a classy property!!

A perfect vacation in paradise
Amazing location with an amazing surrounding. Staying at this vacation home was an absolute delight. The property was not only beautiful and well-maintained, but also equipped with all the amenities we could have asked for.
