Very quaint and welcoming, yet clean and neat. Bed was very comfortable, and check in and out was. Breeze. Location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach, many shops, restaurants and coffee shops. There was even a nightstand size fan we were able to use to help me sleep, I had forgotten my own fan and was so thankful they had one in thr closet in the room.

Nice room, delightful back yard with portable fire pit for burning wood, beautiful plants including a lemon tree, covered table and seating…a perfect place to have your morning coffee, which is provided. Best of all, it’s less than a 10 minute walk to the beach and a walkable distance from Carlsbad village shops, restaurants, and bars. Very convenient location!

We absolutely loved this quaint bed and breakfast type stay. The room was adorable. The location is so close to the beach. The rooftop patio was delightful. We also enjoyed the provided beach chairs. We are already looking at another stay in a couple of months. Thank you!

Stayed in the Laguna room. Very nice and cozy. Fire place was romantic. Bed was a little creaky. But their is a nice chase lounge in corner. More stable and quiet.

Great location. Property is clean . We had the Capistrano room and it was comfortable. Just 2 blocks from the ocean, the boardwalk and Dini’s Seafood Restaurant. Fun watching the surfers. Simple accommodations.

What a wonderful hidden gem. We loved our stay! The big bed, antique furniture and rooftop area are 3 of my favorite amenities! It was quiet, close to beach and restaurants! Oh I just loved it! Can’t wait to come back!!

There was no air conditioning, the only ventilation was a window fan that didn’t work when you closed the blinds to darken the room. We found a fan in the cabinet trying to keep the air circulating but the fan sounded like it was coming apart. The ceiling fan only had one speed and it was slow.There was only a bottom sheet on the bed with a down comforter on top. This was a ground floor room so you had to close the blinds to have any privacy at all since the parking lot was right outside the window.

We booked this last minute as a one-night stay over on a trip south. It exceeded our expectations x10! Contactless check-in was a breeze. Our room was massive and the bed was extremely comfortable. Overall a cute, romantic place that I would highly recommend.

Short trip, hoped for a comfortable stay. Pleasantly surprised by ease in getting in and by the car electric charger! However on the other end, no refrigerator and the fans in the window had a fence with open gaps to the exterior. It’s an old building with old furniture and window treatment… rather pricy for what it offers but close to the heart of the village.

Having stayed here before, I was looking forward to this wonderful experience again. I staying in my same beautiful room and enjoyed the lovely gardens. I miss the breakfasts but understand the changes. Unfortunately, my room was never serviced in the 4 days I stayed. The bedding did not have to be changed, but wanted clean towels every day and the trash emptied every day.

It's a cute, quaint place. Quiet. No air conditioning. No front desk; check yourself in and out. I didn't understand their thing about feather beds and feather pillows. Wondered how often those feathers are cleaned. But the rooms were clean.

Disappointing to say the least
We really wanted to like this inn. We like to support small business/non chain hotels but we were very disappointed with our stay. When we turned the ceiling fan on in our room it sparked. I texted Tori the property manager and she immediately responded and upgraded us to a larger room. When I went to use the shower after a long day of traveling we had no hot water. She rectified the situation but it took hours for the water to heat up. I took a cold shower and my husband took a hot shower in the room we were originally in. FYI no housekeeping services. You have to get your own fresh towels from a common room downstairs. The refrigerator and microwave are also in a common area. Coffee is available in the lobby but it was closed in the morning both times we went down. No bar soap either…just small travel size bottles of shower gel. Even at night when it was cool outside our room was hot. We were extremely uncomfortable even with the windows open. It truly is a very expensive NO FRILLS inn. We could have stayed elsewhere with just as good location to Carlsbad village and been much more comfortable. I really feel like we wasted our money.

We were down there when 'Hurricane Hillary' hit. Our flights were delayed and the staff was very accommodating and let us stay in the room well past our check-out time, which we sincerely appreciated. The bed was really soft and I had a tough time sleeping as a result. It was very convenient to get to the beach, shops & restaurants, though, and I'd consider staying here again if we're in the area.

Very unique property, with quaint rooms that have a nice bed/breakfast kind of feel (except breakfast is NOT included). There was some disrepair and lack of cleanliness in our room, but the bed was extremely comfortable. Very nice bed. Cool layout in the room, nice and spacious feeling. Liked the antique decor. Liked the beach chairs and beach towels and sunscreen for loan...that was a resort touch that is above and beyond for sure. It was a pleasant stay, I would've given 4/5 but there was no AC and it was very hot during our stay, which made the room stifling and not fun to be in to have shelter from the sun. For the price (which I considered on the higher side), a room like this should have AC in the summer or make a point of noting that it's not included and be priced appropriately.
