The property was nice and cozy. There is not much to do around, but Cumberland Island was fun. The breakfast was disappointing, but the rest was OK.

This historic hotel sits right in the quaint town of St. Marys, GA, and right on the St. Marys River, directly across from the ferry to Cumberland Island. The hotel has a great saloon on site that locals love, and a good restaurant providing fresh seafood and other fare. If you’re seeking a hotel that has lots of character and a funky vibe, this is it. We won’t stay anywhere else when we visit this beautiful area.

Riverview Hotel experience
Funky room with sink in the bed area. Was told I was in the back of the hotel which sounded great until I realized the windows were next to the bar which had a band playing every night. I overheard several other guests complaining about this as well (I did not). The last morning I was there I received a loud knock on the door at 7:30am informing me that I needed to move my car from the street immediately. Could someone not informed me the previous evening? This was a planned tree trimming event. Front desk staff were definitely not friendly.

Property was very unique. It was very clean. Breakfast could definitely be improved a little. Only complaint we had about service was the fact that we didn’t get hand towels which was not a big deal. Hotel is convenient, with easy parking. We never moved our car. You could walk to everything.

Perfect location and lovely historical hotel
This is an adorable and quaint little historic hotel in a perfect location. Quiet (except for the band downstairs which cuts off early enough) and located near several bars and restaurants. We did not have the opportunity to take the ferry out to the island because it was a quick stopover on the way home from a long trip for us, but we'd really like to go back and do that. The staff is friendly and helpful. While the rooms are old fashioned, the bathrooms are modern and up to date. We loved it!

I loved this spot. We ferried out to Cumberland island, and this hotel is literally right across the street from the ferry. Staff were pleasant, and there was an option to purchase a packed lunch for Cumberland island. Restaurant connected has good food and live bands. Love the old time charm of the hotel and town!

Hotel offers a very basic breakfast without protein. The photos in the website should be updated to reflect the interior decoration. Reception should provide information about the neighborhood, restaurants, Cumberland island ferry, and local activites and it doesn't. Price of rooms should be less Monday through Thursday; they are too high. There should be a suggestion book or box. Entrance area needs a friendlier atmosphere. Day staff was very friendly. :-)

Old Hotel
Super cute! Old hotel so don’t expect much in amenities. Room was clean and staff was friendly and courteous. Walkable to shops and water. More of a bread and breakfast vibe. Loved it but bed could have been a bit more comfortable.
