Cathy has arranged, from what I've been stayed in, the single best property for larger groups in Hocking Hills. Very spacious without being empty, very well decorated without being cluttered, all of the cabin feel without the smell of pine on your clothes weeks later. Cathy herself was a treat as well. She was kind of enough to introduce herself when we checked in and went above and beyond to stop by each day to make sure the hot tub's chemical levels were in balance. This was our last time going to Hocking Hills, but this was the place to go out on!

READ BEFORE BOOKING
The property itself and the surrounding area is lovely. However, there are several red flags. 1) The owner tried to charge us $450 after our stay for "damages" incurred during our weekend. One of those "damages" was a cigarette burn and she said she found cigarette butts in the ashtray.... but absolutely no one in my group is a smoker and/or has ever smoked. She would not remove the charge even when I told her this. 2) There are more rules than I have ever encountered in any VRBO; these rules were not available to me until after I had paid for the nonrefundable stay. I.e. your internet is limited to 20 GB for your ENTIRE stay (which is basically unheard of in this day of unlimited wifi) and if you go over, she charges you for every GB. Other rules include you can't move any of the furniture, you can't use any candles other than tea lights she provides, and you can't use an excessive amount of ice (or you will be charged). TLDR: Despite the beauty of the house and the surroundings, the stay is probably not worth the headache in trying to fight erroneous charges and worry about the many rules.

Perfect accommodations
The Mesa Vista lodge was a perfect location for our large family to gather. Plenty of room for group activities and space to spread out. The beds were comfortable and the location is a peaceful oasis. We enjoyed the oversized dining table.

Beautiful house and property!
This is our third year there and we love it! The place is absolutely beautiful and has everything we need and more to enjoy our stay. So much to do outside with fishing and using the paddle boats in the pond to playing volleyball or cornhole or taking a walk on one of the trails. We also love visiting on the wrap around porch with lots of rocking chairs and tables to sit at and enjoy playing games. The ceiling fans provide a nice breeze! We enjoy sitting around the fire pit and roasting hotdogs and marshmallows. Lots of room inside for our large group to enjoy as well. We love the long table in the dining room and the open concept where we can all be together. The owners are absolutely wonderful and provide everything we need!! Thank you for another great vacation!

Beautiful property and Lodge
We went with a large group and it was the perfect cabin! Best one we’ve stayed in with so many of us. The property was well maintained and there was space for everyone in the house without feeling cramped or on top of one another. Hiking trails on property, volley ball, Coe hole, hot tub…it was so much fun! The owners on site were wonderful! They kept in touch and were there if we needed them but not intrusive whatsoever. Great people! Thanks again for welcoming us, we will all be back because it was the best place we’ve found so far!!

Fall Friends Weekend
We had a great time at the Mesa Vista Lodge! Beautiful facility and property! There's so much to do from hiking miles of trails, campfires, playing outdoor games (Connect Four, Corn Hole and Volleyball) to sitting in the hot tub and watching deer in the early evening hours. Incredible cabin!
The pictures do not do this place justice! It’s an amazing property with absolutely all of the comforts of home. Cathy and her family have thought of everything. Plenty to do outside, lots of trails, paddle boats for the lake, corn hole, hot tub, or just sit in one of the many rocking chairs and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The inside is well appointed and homey at the same time. They’ve done such an incredible job renovating this space. It’s so enjoyable.

Amazing experience
We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary with 7 other couples for a 3 day weekend at the property. We were close to other attractions but enjoyed our time on the property as well. We hiked the property trails, rode the paddle boat, played numerous yard games, relaxed in the hot tub and had bonfires every night. There was plenty of room, cookware and stunning scenery. We are already planning a return trip. The hosts were very kind and we enjoyed meeting and chatting with them.

We had a blast celebrating a 40th birthday. We would definitely stay again with friends and/or family. It was spacious, clean, and the property was amazing. We utilized the hot tub, the pond, cornhole boards, and fire pit. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent again.

Great family getaway
Our family had a wonderful stay at Mesa Vista. It had all the amenities you may need. The huge variety of cookware was great as our family loves to cook. We took advantage of the firepit with the supplied wood, and caught/released many fish in the stocked pond. The property is beautiful. We had zero issues, as we left the property just as we found it.
