This is where we always want to stay when visiting, picking up, or dropping off our son to ISU. It's a very convenient location and the staff is wonderful. Last year, when we came down to help him move out of the dorm, the whole place was decorated with ISU merch and graduation decorations... it felt like a home away from home. It's a big part of why we like so much that our son chose to attend ISU and of course gives us more reason to come down and visit him. Thank You!

Hotel was safe for kids easy parking with ramp, pool, hot tub, books in lobby for kids, good free breakfast options, staff members very kind and multi task to make your stay great. I was an ok hotel to stay in. I honestly didn't use the gym (which was smaller than i thought) nor the pool area. The place gave an old style sort of vibe which is wasn't up to my cup of tea. The rooms were clean and organized. Breakfast was ok, one night they potatoes were pretty burnt and the next night they weren't. Eggs were in a circular shape one night and the next in a taco shape with bell peppers and onions. The biscuits were always cold and dry. I think if you are looking for just a basic place to stay, not a lot of people then this is a good option.

Best Western is our go to hotel when we visit Ames. The breakfast bar has a variety to choose from, including waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well maintained. It’s a short drive to the university and the Reiman Gardens a great place to wander about as well as their butterfly enclosure. The staff I’d friendly and helpful. When in Ames stay at the Best Western.
