Howzit Hostels
1.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, 222 reviews
"You don't absolutely need a car for Howzit Maui, but it's really helpful. The hostel arranges daily tours and activities, but if you don't make it onto the sign up sheet, then you need to make your own arrangements. There are plenty of people who have car rentals, so making alternate plans isn't a big deal. There are six shared bathrooms (with showers) and a seventh just for women. There are two more washrooms on the main floor. They get pretty busy in the morning and at night. Pancakes and...

The Beach Waikiki Boutique Hostel
2.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, 267 reviews
"First time in a hostel so there was a learning curve finding out that you have to bring your own soap and towels. You can rent towels though so it wasn't too big of a deal. The thing that made up for all of it was the social aspect. Most everyone is down to hangout and do stuff "

Cinderland EcoVillage - Hostel
1.5 star property
6.0 out of 10, 2 reviews
"Junk-yard-village!!!! Would give it a zero if possible but it derserves a one star at least for the good natured staff - no encounter with owner but they should be forbidden from ever owning land anywhere on this planet."

Hostel City Maui - 1
1.5 star property
4.2 out of 10, 97 reviews
"It served as a safe harbor with a bed. That's all we were looing for. Hotels.com had the wrong address, so we had to call the hostel to find the location. A little less than we expected in terms of number of showers and toilets. Staff was friendly, and we met other travelers. Some tiny ants in the room near any food left outside the fridge."
