Enjoy wine tours and tastings, forest hikes and city escapes as you travel through the gorgeous green surroundings of Oregon’s principal wine region.

Outdoor adventures, wine tasting and city exploration provide much to see, do and experience in the 150-mile (240-kilometer) length of Willamette Valley. Oregon's famous wine country features more than 700 vineyards. With mountains, waterfalls, fields and forests surroundings its towns and cities, the area is also a place of remarkable and diverse landscapes. Go on a wine-tasting expedition, hike to the top of a rocky summit, relax in hot springs and view art treasures from several continents.

The majority of Oregon's wineries and vineyards are located in Willamette Valley. Join organized tasting tours or travel to wineries on your own. Sample from a huge selection of reds, whites and rosés in tasting rooms and cellars and learn about growing conditions as you stroll through the vineyards.

Beyond the vineyards, explore more of the valley's gorgeous scenery. Hike the Trail of Ten Falls, located in Silver Falls State Park. This loop hike covers almost 9 miles (14 kilometers) and takes you above, below and past 10 gushing cascades. Trek through a forest of ferns to reach the top of Spencer Butte at the southern end of the valley. Soak in natural hot springs in Willamette National Forest.

Rent a bike and cycle along the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway. This 134-mile (216-kilometer) route passes past hops fields, vineyards and green-covered hills.

The bikeway continues to Salem, Oregon’s capital city. Explore its landmark attractions, including the Oregon State Capitol. Visit some of the valley’s other towns and cities as well.

Delight in the rich cultural scene of Eugene. Watch a show at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts and study American, European and Japanese art at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. Tour Albany’s three national historic districts.

Reach Willamette Valley by flying into Portland International Airport or one of the regional airports. Get around to its vineyards, state parks and fascinating cities by rental car or public transportation.
