Borgo was an absolute dream to stay in. The views are magical and the staff was very accommodating. The rooms are spacious, clean and so beautiful! It is important to note that it is very far from most places and transportation is difficult if not booked in advance. Also, please I can’t stress this enough, bring bug spray.

Absolutely stunning property with the most lovely staff! We stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon and wish we could have stayed more. The breakfast was EXCELLENT, the hotel was gorgeous with a beautiful pool. We were able to do the horseback riding with Sara who made a first timer feel very comfortable, do a wine tasting with Lorenzo who was charming and so fun, and get a massage and enjoy the steam room. The front desk staff was super helpful and helped plan our stay weeks before we even arrived and made suggestions and reservations for us all throughout. We were also lucky enough to meet GG (who may be the manager or guest relations) who looked out for us during our entire stay and showed us around the gorgeous property. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Good stay at Borgo Pignano
Hotel is great, we did several trails around the property - beautiful! Breakfast and lunch was good. We did have the bigger room (900 sq ft) so it was quite spacious. Bathroom could be a bit cleaner. Dinner was not great and quite over priced for what it was (we had some starters and pasta). We also tried pastas at lunch and those were great (different menu). we were offered champagne before we looked at the menu (25 euros per person), and we asked for some Brunello without looking at the menu which we were charged about 25 euros per person too. The pool looked amazing, it was a bit chilly outside so we couldn’t use it. Overall great experience minus the over priced and not super flavorful dinner!

Honeymoon stay

Idyllic Tuscan getaway that feels like home
We were looking for an idyllic Tuscan getaway and Borgo Pignano delivered. The building and surrounding grounds are picturesque, encompassing historic buildings. What made our stay unique was the homey atmosphere and personal touch. We were personally welcomed by the General Manager, and the staff made extra effort to make a personal connection. The approach of the property is to recreate a home away from home (if you’re a wealthy villa owner with a full set of staff ha!) with an abundance of cozy common areas, limited signs, and a strong emphasis on sustainable, natural, and homemade products. The views are divine. We stayed at the beginning of April, shortly after the property opened for the season. As such, there was a nice, small group of guests and it was very quiet. Additionally, this meant the pool (so gorgeous!) was closed - they were prepping it for opening later in the month. Special shoutouts to the restaurant manager and front desk staff for being friendly, personable and helping us feel at home. The breakfast spread (included) is wonderful and full of items grown or homemade on the property. Note, two restaurants are available and the prices are not for travellers on a budget. We dined one evening in a room with a communal table and open fireplace but were disappointed with the food for the price point. This, I’d say, was the only blip in our stay. Stay here for a luxurious, yet homey getaway in Tuscany that is a destination in and of itself!

Our favorite part of our Italy vacation was the pasta making class and wine tasting. The property was beautiful. My 2 complaints was the air conditioning in our room was super loud and fluctuated in noise and the antique doors are loud and slam which made it difficult to sleep at night

I'm glad to know that as a whole, you had a great experience and that you enjoyed our pasta courses and wine tasting. About your two comments, I would like to clarify a couple of things: The AC is a new feature that we have installed in all our units this year, 2018. It has been a really difficult installation, mainly in the manor house, since the villa is dated from the XII century, and the walls didn't allow an easy installation. Even though those constraints, we manage to install a magnificent air conditioning in all rooms, really silent, but in two of the rooms, we had to install a stand-alone unit that is a bit noisier than the rest. This stand-alone unit works at 50 decibels (library conversation). Due to your feedback, we are planning to see if we can improve that system during 2019. Concerning the doors, one of our core values at Borgo Pignano is to keep the Tuscan heritage and the beauty of our hamlet & manor house. Keeping the original doors have been one of our aims. In case you would like to come back to Borgo Pignano, I would advice you either to book Torretta Room, stand-alone room on the 3rd floor, or one of our maisonettes, cottages or farmhouse, to make sure you enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Borgo Pignano thought the day. perfect place for a tuscan vacation. attentive staff except for one inexperienced waiter. pillows were too small/flat and made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. solvable by asking for extra pillows. expensive cocktails.

Heaven in a bottle!
If relaxation was could be bottled, they'd probably do that at Borgo Pignano! ...and it would be organic! TOP NOTCH in every facet. From the first check-in to the sad parting, they go above and beyond. The attention to detail is obvious at every turn. Comfort, relaxation, fitness, and food and beverage -- all so spectacular. And the setting, like an oil painting. SO beautiful it was surreal. Will be back as soon as possible!!

Under the Tuscan Sun
While you can't really go wrong with a vacation in Tuscany, there are few places that enhance your experience and make your vacation like a romantic movie. Borgo Pignano was that place for me and wife. Set on 700 acres, this self-sustainable farm estate, offers it all whether it be a romantic getaway (which was the case for us) or a family vacation with activities for adults and kids. Even separate pools for families and adults. Poolside bar/drinks is just a few feet away from each. Excellent curated wine list and dinner options on site as well. Bespoke made cocktails for those who wish to indulge beyond wine. The staff is attentive and knows you by name. I suggest renting a car to explore the local towns as it's only an 60-80 minute drive to beaches and Florence. The Spa is excellent. We appreciated that the spa only reserves your booking, so you have the entire spa facility to yourself for the duration of your spa treatment. Your photographs will be postcard or NatGeo worthy. Rooms are larger than average, good WiFi throughout, peace and quiet, great for escaping to one of the many seating areas with a bottle of wine and reading a good book. I can go on, and on. Just book it. You will not be disappointed.

This property is amazing. When our room was ready there were fresh flowers everwhere. They left cookies in our room and strawberries in the attached room for our children. The property and our room was impeccable. The service was fantastic and my kids absolutely loved the grounds. Our only regret is that we did not know more about the property before arriving. They have cooking classes, horseback riding and other activities right on site. We have already talked about going back some day during the summer months to enjoy the pool and outdoor activities.

Borgo Pignano - historic villa with charm
Charming villa in a perfect location with lots of period features. The pool was great, however, securing a lounger by the pool was almost impossible given the number of people staying in the villa and cottages. Water should have been provided by the pool for free, especially given that the hotel filters its own water. Restaurant food was very good, although a little pricey. For almost £300 per night I was expecting just a little more.

Beautiful Tuscan retreat
The villa and the grounds are stunning. Guests were allowed to roam and explore both freely. There was always a sense of magic and wonder behind each door! The staff are professional and attentive and the rooms are cleaned twice a day. It was very relaxing and comfortable. Some of the facilities were sadly not available during our stay. We had also tried to book a cooking class but were told by the receptionist that we were not able to taste or eat what we made during the class ie it was purely a cooking class. Not sure if this a communication error but we found that quite odd and were put off by it. Half the point of cooking is eating it afterwards. Another small gripe is the lack of free coffee and tea facilities made to guests. It stood out particularly because the tea ordered on several occasions was made with lukewarm water and the coffee order was wrong each time. we still had a wonderful time nonetheless.

Relaxing stay in a culturally stunning hotel
The moment we arrived, we were greeted by the hotel's friendly staff who proceeded to make our stay memorable and absolutely wonderul. The restaurant offered a tasting menu and their very skillful chef catered to both our vegan and vegetarien needs, giving us a delightful dinner experience. The property is magnificent and the room was charming, comfortable and historically stunning, making our stay extra special.

Anniversary getaway
We had an amazing stay at Borgo Pignano. Our room was the smallest but we had the quirkiest bathroom arranged over three levels. Everything oozed rustic tuscan charm, the interior decorating was beautiful. The grounds and the estate offered a lot to explore and great for walks, hiking, biking. The pool was amazing even though the weather was not as warm as we would have liked it in Oct. Breakfast was simple but good, everything was home made and organic. Staff helped with recommendations for lunch and dinner, courteous and quick to help. We wish we could have stayed longer, definitely returning back!

A jewel in Tuscany
First, you are welcomed at registration with cool sparkling water, then you are escorted through this enchantedly refurbished estate up to an elegant room and an especially large bathroom for Italy or Europe in general. There is just too much to comment on to succinctly describe its sustainable mission as well as its relaxing atmosphere with great food plus an infinity pool with a panorama view of Tuscany. The pizza and barbecue nights were most fun and a way to mingle with other guests and the staff of Borgo Pignano. At the end of the trip when we had to leave around 4am for the Florence airport, the staff left us some fresh coffee and pastries to make our early departure a little less hectic. The tour with Sylvia, overcoming my phobia of bees with Antonio and the pasta class with Leonardo with some of the highlights just on the grounds. The local area, too, was beautiful using Borgo Pignano as a base to explore the region and the staff are full of tips on where and when to visit various towns and sites. We hope to make this jewel a ritual for us.
