If what you look for is somewhere to sleep, it's totally fine . If you're on a tight budget and not look for the most convenient and comfortable stay, it's is welcome. I'm happy with my stay, with what I paid for. 🙂

The corridor smells of smoking. Room floors are covered with dirt. Doesn't look like it has been cleaned in weeks. Same with the cloth hangers, covered by dirt. Cockroaches crawl onto the bed. Dirty marks on pillow cases. No air con. No bathroom in room. On street parking only. Probably worth $50 per night.

It’s advertised with a cafe but it’s been locked up unused a while, this should be updated as it gives a very false idea about the property.

It was comfortable for one night. Being a Saturday night other guests in the hotel were very noisy between 10pm and 2am disturbing my sleep. Showers and toilets were clean.

Unpleasant cigarette smoking smell lingered in the room. Sinks rusted, stained, door wont unlock. Wooden door entrace chipping. Shared toilets unpleasant. Getting in the building in the alley way, gave me a big scare.. paid to stay for two nights. Left after 2 minutes upon checkin. Tried a refund, for the second unused night, not approved.

Hi there, just wondering what phone number I can call to try get my money back as the stay I booked for me and my partner and my mum and dad, we really were unsatisfied for the money we paid, the beds were dirty with stains on the bed sheets and full of black looking dog hair or people’s pubes and that is really sad for the money we paid for the night! I’d like to talk to someone for a refund for the night as that is very disappointing!

I thought it was a hotel with great food and bar as seen in the picture, however the bar is permanently closed and it’s not a hotel, it’s more like a dormitory. If known earlier, I wouldn’t choose this place to stay.

The Met Hotel is very base level accommodation. Suitable for a one night stay if you don’t plan to spend any time at the room except for sleeping. While the condition of the property itself is older, it is kept quite clean.

Okay....The Met Hotel is not a Hotel, it is not a Motel, it is a low end hostel on the second floor of a run down building. If you are looking for a centrally located hostel with no amenities then this might be fine, at least the rooms are private but all bathrooms are shared. I arrived at check in time to find all doors locked and no door that appeared to be that of reception. I texted the number and was told to get a key out of the lock box. The entrance to the Hostel is off an alley in an alcove with trash cans, its is definitely a shock to see that this was the entrance. The room was quite big so if thats something you are looking for at least there is value for the space. The room was clean but the building is run down enough that its hard to put much polish on it. You are supplied with towels but nothing else, no fridge or microwave, hot water pot or anything else. The beds are thin, old spring style that were not comfortable. There is a small kitchen with fridge, stove and basic supplies. I was never told if the coffee a milk was for public use or not. There were definitely shady characters in the halls and smoking on the balcony with doors propped open so the smoke just goes right back inside. The walls are thin and it was quite loud all night with people in the hallways and slamming doors well past 2am. **Never saw any staff or employees.** If you want a cheap hostel this is okay, if you are expecting a hotel, this is definitely not okay.

Hi Chris, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you felt this way. Unfortunately your check-in was on a Sunday, during our out-of-hours period. For all after hours check-ins, we leave keys in a safe spot in a lockbox, and only issue out the code upon our guests calling the number provided. In relation to the other guests, we can't discriminate against guests that stay at the hotel. We will continue to keep our prices affordable, and give guests a suitable and affordable accommodation option in Toowoomba. Cleaners are on site every morning, and the owners inspect the hotel on a daily basis. The building itself was built in 1864, and is one of the oldest Hotels in Queensland. Whilst the building may be a little aged, we do love its rich history. We appreciate your feedback, and will to continue to work on improving our hotel. Thank you, Jasmine (Owner, The Met Hotel)

I lovely pub hotel
Had a lovely time at the Met, and recommend it to anyone who wants an inexpensive, no fuss place to stay. It is conveniently located in the middle of town. It was super clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly. The shared bathrooms were immaculate, and have been nicely updated, and same with the rooms. Being above a bar, it can be a bit noisy at times, but this was only noticeable on Thursday (we stayed Tues-Thurs), as the bar hosts live music, but the band finished promptly at 10pm, and all quiet by 11pm. On the upside, it's above a bar, so very convenient to grab a drink at the end of the day. Good range of beers on tap.

There is absolutely no heating and it was 1 degree. I had to sleep wigh jeans and a jumper on and there is no hot water either.

The stairs were very steep and hard to go up and down with a suitcase. Not really designed for the 50 and over age group. Staff were very pleasant. No tea and coffee facility without having to supply your own milk. More a backpackers kind of accommodation.

A good nights sleep
I really liked this little hotel, it was quiet and the location was really good. We had easy contact with the reception ( called a number). Important for guests to know that the entrance is around the side/back of the building. We stayed one night but slept very good. Downside is shared bathroom but its not the end of the world
