At check in, I was told my ID was insufficient because they only accepted a driver's licence. I have never driven a car! Apparently my whole wallet full of ID was not good enough. I have never encountered this in my whole life and I am not confident they would even permit me to check in during another stay if I were to catch the bus instead of being driven by a family member. They insisted on using my niece's ID even though she wasn't paying for the stay and was only on the property for 3 nights of my 9 night stay. My niece also misplaced a necklace of sentimental value during the last couple of days of my stay. After we returned home and she realised the necklace was lost, she phoned them to ask if anyone had seen it. The man on the phone was extremely rude, treated her like she was accusing them of stealing (which she wasn't) and did not give her any confidence that they would keep her loss in mind if her necklace should be found. By contrast, the other motel we stayed in on our journey home when she phoned to mention the lost necklace were kind and reassuring and made my niece feel like if her lost item were found they would contact us. My actual stay at Ruthven Street Motor Inn was fine. The room was clean. Housekeeping was done when requested and I didn't lack anything essential. Some of the fixtures were old but that can be expected in cheap accommodation. The dispensers were in poor condition. I probably would not stay again though

Great budget motor inn.
Great budget motor inn. Got a free room upgrade. Bed was comfy & room was clean. Had fridge, microwave, toaster & kettle and everything we needed for our stay. Short walk to Hungry Jacks & Subway & guzman y gomez.

Nice and Basic.
Checkin was quick and easy. Room was clean and comfy. Close to a variety of food places. Room was on the road side wasn’t that noisy. Bed could do with a topper on it. Bed hard. Overall stay was good

Great motel
Booked for an overnight stay prior to surgery. Friendly hosts. We had room #14. It was nicely appointed and had a spa bath. Had a cute little bottle of fresh milk in fridge which sadly is becoming rare. Close to several eateries...short walk. We would stay again. Affordably priced.

The room was quite spacious however the shower was a bit ordinary and one of the “soaps” leaked and suds came up through the drain making the floor quite slippery.

We were allowed to put our things into the unit earlier and go off shopping .. only downfall need full lenght mirror in rooms .sorry its a womens thing ! Otherwise very comfotable . 2 parking spaces .also

people were friendly at reception, only confusion about breakfast inclusion was a delay getting to our room. listing said it was included, also on our confirmation, but this is not offered by hotel. was all sorted after about an hour. everything went smoothly after that. would stay here without doubt again.

Loved the pool and barbeque facilities .. and the hotel was very clean and tidy. On the down side, the bed is old and had a deep dip where it had been worn down over time - very uncomfortable. You either sleep on the rise, or roll into the dip Close to a breakfast cafe and fast food outlets
