Very noisy morning cleaning staff. Literally yelling in the hallway to each other a few hours before check out. Uncontrollable AC. It was controlled by the building mgmt and it was too hot. Could not open the window for relief. Mechanical noise all night long too. Parts of the hall smelled like rotting eggs.

Good, convenient hotel
APA Hotel Takasaki-Ekimae is a very clean, comfortable and convenient hotel, just a minute`s walk from the JR Station. I`d happily stay there again.

Very comfortable overnight stay
Very nice, comfortable, convenient hotel. I stayed overnight in Takasaki and I would recommend it without hesitation. Check-in was friendly and fast, the room was in excellent condition and I slept very well. Plus they have an English language news channel (BBC) which not all hotels in Japan have. The buffet breakfast was decent value too.

Great Facilities and Location
Great business hotel with nice onsen. Ideal location a one minute walk outside Takasaki station with plenty of malls and places to eat.

Very affordable, convenient location!
This was a very affordable hotel at a convenient location (right next to the station). Not the most comfortable bed, but we expected that. Just be aware in case you want/need something more cushy! No complaints...would recommend, especially to anyone travelling on a budget.

Pro: Convenient location, next to train and bust station, and many shops/restaurants. Cons: Building and room is old and out of date, not very modern.There were stains on the blanket and not enough outlets for devices, a bit stuffy and dusty.

Business trip with a side of relaxation!
For the price, the breakfast and dinner can not be beat. The Onsen/Ofuro were wonderful. Room is very small, but the bed was comfortable. Overall fantastic value, and convenience with the train station only steps away!

Wonderful Stay

Staffs are very nice and try to help you with all their best. The room was very clean, but you can smell the cigarette smoke from other room though. Anyway the hotel require air refresher spray. The hotel is super near to Takasaki station(less than 5 mins) and bus station(less than 3 mins), also shopping mall(less than 7 mins). And because of this, you can hear train running sound till the last train of the day.

Room is impossible for couple as it is too small especially with baggages. Stayed few APA hotels and it seem to be the same. Only one plus point in takasaki apa hotel is onsen.

Easy night away from Tokyo and next to JR station.
Due to recent events, I needed to make last minute travel plans arriving Tokyo instead of Sapporo. Rather than stay in a mega city, I decided to stay for one night in Takasaki before venturing further north in Japan. The hotel is situated very close to JR Takasaki station (ekimae stands for "in front of train station") literally a 2 minute walk along the boardwalk so no steps to negotiate if you have luggage and very easy to find. Guest room is typical for a Japanese business hotel (limited floor space / small bathroom) so okay for one night and minimal luggage. Hotel breakfast is quite reasonable with a somewhat Japanese/western mix. Front staff speak English for which I gather most people in the area are sufficiently fluent. Unfortunately did not have time to try the public bath. The pictures look reasonable. If you are looking for an alternate option to busy Tokyo, then Takasaki is a nice quiter town. From Narita airport, approximately 90 minutes with one change of trains at Tokyo station.

Convenient stay at a good location
Hotel was right in front of train station and close to several departmental stores. Convenient stores are also located nearby, about 5 mins away from hotel. Though the trains can be noisy but it's not loud enough to cause a hinder.

Straight forward room, a bit small
I was able to book the cheapest option for a two person room, and it came out to be a great price. However, it was a bit smaller than I expected, but for its price, I cannot complain. Overall, very comfortable and homey with a lot of basic amenities provided.

Poor Service with one or 2 exceptions. Decent bed
1 or 2 great staff! The rest didn't really care about you and it seemed that the higher the position of the staff member, the less interested they were. Not much enthusiasm, but again 1 or 2 Exceptional staff! But overall quite poor service, I felt bad for the new trainees, none of the senior members seemed to really want to help them much, but the trainees tried :). Decent bed, tiny room (or just poor lay out), Great Wifi! Fridge barely worked, no cutlery etc, nevertheless the room served the purpose; somewhere decent to rest while I sort a few things out. It was good compared to shared hostels etc and quite good for the price, but for a hotel you expect some things to be of a higher standard. Not bad, but I couldn't give it a high review, if I did I would be lying and misleading any readers. But if you need a cheap decent place to stay then it may just serve your needs.

Clean & comfortable, right next to Takasaki Sta.
We stayed in a tiny semi-double bed room, typical of APA / business hotels. Yes tiny, but clean and comfortable. It has all the room amenities we need and a large TV with local channels. The best thing about the hotel is its proximity to Takasaki Station (with local trains, JR, and Shinkansen). And Takasaki is a great hub to go to other locations. English-speaking staff at the reception. All in all, a great hub hotel for a long weekend!
