Salty Kisses & Goodnight Wishes is a one bedroom (with AC), fully equipped, home on the peaceful side of St. John, in lovely Coral Bay.
Coral Bay’s bars, restaurants and small shops are just a few minutes down the road and the North Shore beaches are short 10-minute drive away. And if you are seeking a bit more excitement Cruz Bay is not far and we can even arrange taxi service if you would like to plan a carefree night on the “town”.
While you can always enjoy a gentle breeze and very few bugs the house also features ceiling fans and AC.
The bedroom has a luxurious queen size bed, DISH television and DVD player, and offers beautiful views of the lush green mountains from the slider doors that lead to the expansive deck.
The living room is inviting and offers a carefully curated library of books that tell you the story of St. John (fiction and non fiction) as well as a collection of games, birding books and binoculars to enjoy the daily feathered visitors. DISH television and DVD player and Bluetooth speakers allow you to play your own soundtrack for your stay in paradise.
The full kitchen has everything you could want including; microwave; dishwasher; coffee maker, toaster, blender; full sets of dishes, glasses, pots and pans, knives etc. unleash your inner chef if you are so inclined. Or enjoy the delicious selection of restaurants situated in Coral Bay.
The deck offers a lovely view of Coral Bay harbor and has a dining area as well as comfy outdoor sofa. In fact that is where we spend most of our time when we are there!

Beautiful Home with an Amazing View
We loved staying at Salty Kisses and Goodnight Wishes. The house is exactly as shown in the listing and even better in person. The host is easy to communicate with and the house has maps, books, and information about the restaurants and services on the island. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed. The bed, linens, and towels are incredibly comfortable. This was our first visit to the island and our friends who visit each year are in awe of this home.and its amenities.

Just what I was looking for
Great place (exactly like the online photos) with great amenities- beach chairs, cooler, etc. I took advantage of renting the jeep which was a great way to get around the island. As a solo traveler, it was much appreciated to be met at the ferry after a day of traveling and then drive back to the villa. Communication was great as well.

What a gem! Everything you need to experience Coral Bay! Listening to the tree frogs at night while looking at the stunning Coral Bay was out of this world! Please be aware that you must know how to handle a jeep to get up to property!

Just perfect
My husband and I stayed 6 nights and loved our time in Salty Kisses and Goodnight Wishes. We chose Amanda's place because it looked peaceful, is on the quiet side of St. John, and is close to the best hiking and snorkeling areas. We absolutely made the right choice and would definitely stay there again. The rental was exactly as pictured and described. It was very clean, with amazing views from the inside and outside areas. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the bedroom was large and comfortable. The road to the driveway was narrow and hilly, but all of the roads in St. John are! It was nice to be close to the main road. We could be just about anywhere within 20 minutes. We rented the Jeep from Amanda, which included transportation from and to the ferry dock. So easy! Amanda drove us along North Shore Road, pointing out the major sites and giving information about the area along the way. She also showed us the grocery markets and some of the other businesses in Coral Bay before arriving at the apartment. The Jeep was ideal for getting around the island; its maneuverability and size is really helpful in the tight parking areas and on the hilly, narrow roads. Communication with Amanda before and during our stay was fantastic. She answered promptly and was always very helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed meeting her and are so grateful that she chooses to share this amazing property with the rest of us!

Beautiful!
Everything was perfect. The view was beautiful, I loved watching the sun come over the bay in the morning and seeing all the hillside lights at night. The home has everything you could need and I loved the decor. It was our first time visiting the Island and Amanda was very kind and helpful with all any questions we had. We would love to come back someday.

Our favorite VRBO stay on St. John
Clean, easy to get to, quiet, and just right for 2 people. Owner lives downstairs but you'd never know that anyone is there...but she is there if you need anything, even a rental Jeep. We have stayed in 10 properties on St. John over a 25-year period, and this is our favorite. Hope to get back again soon.

We LOVED IT!!! The location was perfect for us! 10 -15 minute ride to most all our favorite beaches and minutes from our favorite restaurants and shops. Living in among the Coral Bay residents has become our favorite spot! The house itself was perfect, clean and well appointed, it had all we needed and Amanda was GREAT!

Enjoy a great view of Coral Bay
The house is perched on a steep hill overlooking Coral Bay and the fun neighborhood (Skinny Legs restaurant). It’s just the right size for 2. Nice covered and uncovered deck. Well-equipped kitchen. Nice features such as a shower with stone walls. We rented the manager’s Jeep which was convenient. Amanda was great to work with and very accessible.

Lovely little villa
This was our first time in Saint John, and we were confident this place would be great — but it truly exceeded our expectations. Check-in was easy, the views were stellar (lush, green, iguanas in the treetops!), and the house was clean, cozy, and conveniently stocked with everything from beach floaties to a cooler to birding books and binoculars. Amanda was great. She let us know she was there if we needed anything, but also gave us plenty of space. It was a super special trip overall, and staying here was integral to the experience. We hope to be back again!

Had a great stay
The property was even nicer than we had imagined. It looked out over Coral Bay, and located a short drive from restaurants and the town. Also not far from the spectacular north shore beaches. Amanda was lovely, and was keen to make sure everything went well for us. For those unfamiliar with the area, this location is at the other end of St John from the main town of Cruz Bay and the resorts. A jeep is not essential, but get something with power and clearance because the major roads are narrow, steep, and are either winding upwards or plunging downwards. Fortunately, Amanda's house is comparatively easy to access. The views as you drive around are spectacular. Roads there are populated by "wild" donkeys, goats, deer, iguanas, occassional hermit crabs, and other jeeps, which are also on the wrong side of the road. Fun places to eat are close by, as are markets to buy food. These are not suburban supermarkets, however, and the prices reflect how far the food has to travel to get to you. The people are a lot of fun, and get pizza at the Salty Mongoose and hang out there. You will need insect repellant esp around sunset, because of the no-see-ums. And coral-friendly sunblock. The best coral snorkeling is probably at Hawksnest, and Maho beach has turtles if you snorkel out toward where the boats moor. You can rent snorkel fins and mask for about ten dollars a day at the dive shack.

Great location, but some quirky hang ups for us
The communication and check in process was great, and the location of this stay is wonderful for Coral Bay - very convenient. It was quite clean and nicely furnished, but we felt like the description wasn't entirely accurate for this listing, so it didn't meet our expectations. The water is not drinkable (and there was none provided), so it's a good thing we had time to make a grocery run before we came. Maybe it was just the time of year, but our stay was extremely hot! There was no breeze in the house at all during the day, and it took 5 hours for the AC to cool off the bedroom at night. Since the shower is technically considered "outdoor" because it's open to the outside air, you can't leave the bathroom door open at all because it's hot and muggy - which also makes getting ready very uncomfortable. Another quirk was the kitchen gas stove - it worked, but the ceiling fan above the stove keeps it from cooking evenly (and we couldn't find a switch to turn it off, so we had to manually get a chair and pull the chain). Before we figured out that was the problem, it took 20 minutes to cook scrambled eggs. We loved the look and style and convenience of the beach chairs/towels/etc. but overall this place was not what we were expecting based on the description.

Quiet days in Coral Bay
First time here and a good choice to stay away from the hustle of the Cruz area. Easy drive up to the North Shore beaches and close to amenities. The property was exactly what we were looking for and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Looking forward to our return trip to St John.

I almost hate to tell you how perfect this place is, because when you find something this good you want to keep it for yourself! We are repeat guests here, and we could not imagine staying on St John anywhere else as a couple. The deck is amazing, wonderful views and excellent shading in morning and evening. The Villa is clean and well stocked. The location is great for a stay in coral bay. The host is absolutely wonderful. Communication is easy with Amanda, she’s there if you need her but not intrusive. She’s thought of every detail, even down to a water rinse on the porch to wash the saltwater off snorkel gear and sand off of shoes and feet before you enter the house. House has ac in bedroom, but with the windows and the breeze we only ran it at night when we slept. Staying here feels like coming home to us!

Awesome views!
The property was just as advertised. Very clean and comfortable and the bed was very comfortable. This is the quiet side of the island and you do need a vehicle to get pretty much anywhere, a taxi is hard to get. The jeep we rented from Amanda and Owen was great, the beaches were awesome! When we needed anything or had a question Amanda was quick to respond. Thanks for hosting us, it was such a great experience!

Amazing Property/Host
Such a smooth VRBO process with Mrs. Amanda! The house was super clean and such a wonderful view! She is the sweetest woman you could probably ever meet and is constantly checking to make sure that you have everything you need! We rented a jeep from her personally which was so nice with picking us up from ferry/drop off to ferry. She gave us a recommendation to see Moss Henry at Salty Mongoose and we thoroughly enjoyed his music! 10/10 recommend!

Perfection!
This villa is absolutely perfect, set up upon a hill overlooking Coral Bay. It is airy, spacious, and beautifully decorated with Caribbean accents - a very comfortable place to enjoy morning coffee and to relax after a day of hiking, swimming, and snorkeling. It has everything one would need, including an ample kitchenette, large TVs, puzzles and games, a thoughtful book collection, and beach equipment. Every detail for a perfect vacation is covered! We will definitely return to this corner of paradise!

Wonderful trip
My mom and I loved staying here. It provided everything we needed and more. The bed was so comfy and so was the indoor and outdoor couch! The breeze that goes through the property is so nice whether you are inside or out. The house was so easy to get to and a great location for the places we wanted to visit on this trip! It’s right there in Coral Bay and very easy to get to the North Shore beaches. I highly recommend this property.

Beautiful cottage apartment, lovely Host
My husband & I loved our stay at Salty Kisses. The 1-bedroom space was perfect for us and super comfortable. We spent most of our time on the balcony enjoying the view of the bay, and the couch & bed were very comfortable for when we were (rarely) indoors. We specifically wanted to be on the “quieter” side of the island. We loved taking the Jeep that we rented from Amanda & Owen on adventures to see all the gorgeous beaches & the fun local restaurants. Amanda was a fabulous & knowledgeable host. She gave us great suggestions and was always very communicative. We’d come back again in a heartbeat. One note: the driving can be hilly & tricky on St John’s. We found it thrilling In the Jeep!

Lovely Stay in Coral Bay
Coral Bay is on the less busy side of St. John and this little home from home was the perfect getaway spot for us. We enjoyed the stocked kitchen and beach supplies as well as the cute 1 bedroom that had everything we needed. Exactly as pictured. Gorgeous porch view- perfect for enjoying your coffee every morning and easy drives to Maho Bay and Salt Pond Bay. A few call outs for the new traveler - the driving on St. John has a lot of steep hills and switchbacks so a Jeep or other vehicle that sits higher off the ground is a real nice to have. You will need drinking water since they run on rainwater at the VRBO. We used 8ish gallons for 2 people for 4 days so definitely get plenty at the start of your trip. Grab food at Dolphin Market near Cruz Bay before you head over to Coral Bay and plan on island prices for eating in and grocery shopping. Bring reef safe sunscreen or purchase on island ($20 for 4 oz when we bought it) and don’t forget your snorkel gear!
