Cons & Pros: We originally reserved at the Pension next door that is associated with the hotel, however the two-bed room we reserved wasn’t available to us and they wouldn’t let us cancel the reservation. When we arrived, they offered a two-bed room in the hotel at an extra price. I was pretty miffed and it didn’t seem very hospitable at all to hold us to the reservation when the room wasn’t even available! The kindness and helpfulness of the front desk staff woman (didn’t get her name) however was top notch which helped rebuild my trust. The room was also very nice (there was a sitting area and library on the floor that we really loved). Another weird thing is that they wouldn’t let us order the small breakfast buffet unless we reserved 1 day in advance (?). We could sit in the restaurant and enjoy eating ala carte right next to buffet table, but we could not eat/order the buffet. How odd!

Very clean , enough space. Only downside quite noisy inside the building. Any noise travelled right through the building, didn't matter which room.

Great room and great location! The front desk person was extremely kind and helpful. The room was clean and had what is needed for an overnight stay. The location is amazing, literally around the corner from the Santiago de Compostela.

What a fabulous little place. Ideally situated in the heart of the old town. Next to the cathedral and all the lovely little tapas bars. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

Perfect location a two minute walk to the cathedral, quiet and very clean. All the staff are amazingly helpful, Cristina helped me book a pedicure, which I needed after walking the Camino, she was superb. I have stayed here a number of times and will return, I very highly recommend

Very nice simple but new accommodations. Very small but completely suitable for two. No room to entertain anyone else but again fine. And a great location. AC works, double windows make it quiet.

We have had a great experience at Pensión Rua Nova! Location was great and the room very comfortable and super clean. The hotel's team was very helpful and friendly. I definitely will consider this place for my next trip to Santiago de Compostela. Galicia is amazing!!!!

great location. Checkin was at sister hotel but only 2 mins away. Front desk staff very welcoming, nice and very helpful. Like we had a personal concierge. location was perfect. price was great! very cozy.

We are taking note of your comment about the soundproofing an will consider it for future alterations, even though that impression may have been influenced by the fact that the stay took place during a very high season. More a Hostel than a Hotel. Very noisy with the front door slamming and people talking in the lobby which emanated through the stairwell. Hotel prices -Hostel comfort.

We are a bit disappointed about your review since the property does not really pretend to be a hotel but a hostel: 'pensión' is a word in Spanish to refer to a property with en-suite bathroom rooms--in any case, our property includes commodities which are not usually found in a Pensión in the area such as air conditioning, wifi, flat screen TV... About the prices, we respect your judgement, even though we do not agree that the competence offer lower rates for the same quality. Finally, we have already solved the incidence with the main door (little details we encounter after inaugurating the property in November), and would like to remind our guests that there is a 24-hour Reception Desk service nearby (reachable from the Pensión by free-toll phone) in order to solve any special circumstances such as noisy guests in the property. For us, it would be a pleasure to host you again if you are coming back to Santiago in the future and show you how we have taken your comments into account and improved our service. Das Check-In in dem 3 Sterne Hotel um die Ecke lief problemlos und schnell. Zu meiner Schlüsselkarte habe ich noch eine Straßenkarte mit wichtigen Informationen und sogar einen Busfahrplan zum Flughafen bekommen. Das Personal war sehr höflich. Das Zimmer (Nr.13) war kleiner, als ich es erwartet hatte und es fehlte eine Klobürste, aber gemütlich war es. Auch der Zimmerservice war schnell und gründlich.

Bestlage und empfehlenswert
Die Lage ist unschlagbar und Santiago ist eine winderbare Stadt. Die Zimmer Sind sind sehr sauber und modern. Ich würde wieder diese Pension wählen, auch wenn das Zimmer relativ klein war.
