The common areas of this property were not well kept. The pool water was not clean and clumps of hair often kept me out of it. The ground tiles by the pool had the same food spills dried day after day. The hallways to the rooms, same thing- dirty. I hate to leave a poor review but cleanliness is not where it needs to be here. Our fridge didn’t work for most of the days and the AC stopped working overnight twice. Housekeeping takes the room keys that are in the cardholders that activate the lights and that the guest is financially responsible to return. This resort is not terrible, the staff in the dining services are super friendly and they did pretty well with the food options but I felt like it was issue after issue this trip.

I had fun at this resort. My only complaint was that the water in our room’s shower would back up every time we showered. And a lot of it would leak out to the outside of the shower. The couch/pull out bed was rusty and old.

Worst experience ever. Hotel and rooms is not what it seems in the website. I got a room with the view to a street where you can see motorcycles, trucks and cars passing by. I was given a room with only two connection plugs and none of them work to charge my phone or my kids phones. Definitely not where you want to spend your vacations.

I liked that everything really was all inclusive like they said! The beach was also really pretty and they offered kayaking and snorkeling for free. I got food poisoning from my last day :( Everything is buffet style (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) except one restaurant. They have "live" cooking stations like for omelets and such. There was more alcohol available than one could ever need.

There were bed bugs and roaches in our room, and roach sightings happened daily. There are many restaurants at Riu Bambu and all are disgusting because everything is cooked in rancid oil and has the same disgusting stench to it. We were hungry for days. Sheets and towels are also stained … and the pool water was always opaque instead of clear, so I suspect they don’t clean well. Overall a horrible experience that was not relaxing at all. We ended our trip early and were relieved to be flying back home after 3 days. You’re better off staying at the Riu Palace Punta Caña next door, which we visited in order to escape ours and realized it is beautiful.

So far the worse resort I have stayed in. I would never give this place a single star. Since the first day I told them about the room. All mold and very dirty. They told me you get what you pay for. My son cut his arm on a broken glass in the room. The scones were almost falling on top of the bed. The bathroom was horrible. We are talking about 5 star hotels. I’m not asking for anything less than the minimum. I would never stay again in this resort.

I did enjoy my stay although Mother Nature was relentless. I must say though, I wish they wouldn’t cater so much to Americans. The food options was so boring. I was expecting to taste some Donovan food while there and got none of that.

The property could definitely use an upgrade. There were cracked and missing tiles in the pools, the overall pool areas were not clean, the pool chairs were either broken, dirty or both, the rooms did not have washcloths, and many other things. The buffet restaurant was not maintained throughout dining service. Spilled food was not cleaned up quickly and the staff weren't attentive to guest needs. Also, with the exception of a few, the staff were not friendly.

I really liked the hotel and amenities. They have more than 3 pools and the water park its nice. They have riu parties which are fun. However, the food is very average, they have buffet like in all the 5 restaurants with the exception of the steak house. The steak house you must reserve early as everyone goes to it, by 430pm or 5pm they wont have anymore reservations left and the food wasnt impressive. The room was nice although i am positive it had bed bugs... i really wanted to like this hotel because like i said its an overall nice hotel but they need to do better. I dont think ill be back to this hotel next time im in punta cana.

First my room was not ready when check in time came, the rooms are outdated they smell of old wet rag is unbearable, the AC &TV in most rooms dont work, they dont provide toiletries. SHAMPOO , configuration, lotion.exc... the food was not the best the pools are salty and dont get clean at all as they are accessible 24/7 the only thing i ejoyed was the activities they host for the guess.

My experience at RIU was extremely disappointing. The staff failed to provide any accommodation, forcing me to spend two hours on the phone with Expedia to seek resolution. Even when I requested an Uber for transportation, the RIU staff prevented it from entering the property, leaving me to pay for an overpriced taxi for a short 10-minute ride. The overall lack of responsiveness and assistance from RIU was highly frustrating.

I requested a handicapped accesible room and they did not have available as the website said.neither had acssesible transportation and the pave areas for me to go water Park are not well maid ,ramps were not well done ,they had step between Street and side walk. The room did not have shower bench as the website said ,stAff gave me patio furniture(plastic chair). Pool did not have lifter it does have. A ramp but no water wheelchair to enter trhu. From lobby to water Park almost a mile and they do not have transportation have to walk or move truoght the street.(Dangerous).
