Very disappointed with the overall cleanliness, condition and services of property. Since our last stay several years ago, this location has gone downhill. Considering that its location is in the most beautiful/expensive city in NH, Hilton’s stands should be much higher. Additionally, key card readers were down on front exits and there was no room service available for breakfast or anytime before 4pm. Lastly, half the cable stations didn’t work. Overall disappointing stay.

Good for a weekend stay. Definitely feels like an older hotel - blankets have rips in them and the pool area is kind of unappealing. Some unfinished areas and hot tub has a lot of stains etc but other than that worked well for us!

The shower curtain was stained and smelled. The window shears looked like a cat got at them, they were in threads. The coverlet on the bed, looked like the same cat got at it, threads were pulled all over. The carpet had food stains, and a small bottle of water was $3. The restaurant was closed but they did offer a continental vending machine breakfast.

Not designed for comfort. Bathroom had no grab bars, no shower spray, & terribly low toilet. Microwave in room was placed very low in a cabinet making it very difficult to see or use. Valet parking is required & very pricey. Scant self-serve breakfast is less satifactory than competitors.

Wasn’t expecting much from a garden style moderately priced hotel and I wasn’t disappointed. Lots of pluses in terms of cleanliness, room size, location and all the rest. Bed was comfortable. On the down side, Hotels of this class used to offer basic buffet breakfasts as a carrot; now it’s just breakfast in a to go bag basically. The walls were so thin that I literally heard a guest (guy) come in from a night out at 2 a.m., puke, then snore in an adjacent room. Needless to say, one of us neither puked nor slept.

Location was great but I have stayed in Portland and Freeport Hilton gardens and the rooms were nicer and the parking stinks and had to pay 80.00 for 2 days valet not good.I am not only a honors member but a vacation owner and don’t think I would stay here again.

The staff are excellent. The hotel is right in the middle of downtown, close to lots of shops and dining options. The room, however, is showing age. The mildewed shower with chips in the enamel, for instance, indicates that a modest remodel might be in order.

The property is just on the outskirts of all the main streets in downtown Portsmouth. You can park your car in the municipal lot across the street for the weekend and walk everywhere you want to go.

There is no parking included and it’s $40 for the garage or valet overnight. Rooms are in need of some updating for the price. Stains on the rugs and old mattresses and bedding. Location is good.

Our 5th floor room was very spacious. The drapes were coming off the rail. The tub had chips in the finish, and the shower curtain smelled mildewy. There was some kind of an exterior hood or condenser that came on and was VERY loud and actually made the room vibrate somewhat.

We have stayed many times at this particular location and always enjoy, however we noticed a few minor changes that we would like to address. The front desk staff was less than accommodating when we had questions regarding our bill and the housekeeping left empty tissue holders and lack of extra toilet paper. Upon looking at the cleanliness of our room there was stains on the bedding and one of the lamp shades had an unpleasant color which was questionable as to what it was. Hopefully staff will be more attentive in the future.

I booked the Hilton through Expedia and did not get the room I requested. The beds in the hotel looked like they were slept on. Definitely in need of new linens and found the mattress topper to be dirty. I have enjoyed staying at Hilton hotels in the past, but will think twice next time. Also, I was told the bar would, be open and it wasn't. Not a big deal but just felt as though I didn't get what I paid for. The location was good.

Accessible shower was mildewy and floor drain was mostly plugged resulting in a flooded bathroom floor. We were moved to another room that was better, until i noticed several clipped toenails on the rug near the bed so i had to find a cleaner to vacuum the room.

I've stayed here several times in the past a couple years ago. I think staffing shortages are probably still impacting this hotel. The room was decent, but I noticed under the bathroom shelf a makeup product from the previous guest and the shower body wash was empty. I asked where their "business center" was that was mentioned on the site. I was pointed to a small room off the lobby that had a printer. But the printer was not connecting to my wi-if. The hotel staff member says I could email the document to the hotel account and he would print...which he did. The hotel bar and grill was not open for lunch and would only be open from 5pm-10pm. We had an event that night and returned around 10:30 to see if the kitchen might still be open but it wasn't. The room did not have any literature on the amenities, so I couldn't find out if there was a chance to order room service for the morning. I called guest services in the morning to ask for room service but I was told that has to be arranged 24 hours prior. The location is the big draw but there are other hotels popping up in that area all the time, so Hilton would be smart to invest in staffing to properly run the hotel.

A few minor issue in the room, a ripped curtain with hair tangled in it, shower faucet was loose so the water was too hot or too cold all the time. The windows were dirty but only visible when they fogged up in the mornings. Otherwise comfortable and beautiful facility. Great views. I would stay again, hopefully in a different room.

I’ve sent lots of family to stay here as a Portsmouth resident, but I stayed here myself for the first time and was very disappointed. My room had frayed bedspreads and the beds look like they weren’t made, just thrown together. My shower had lots of mold. Very surprised as we usually stay at Hiltons. Will not return.

Room was fine but little things seem to have fallen by the wayside. Bumpers on bed frame gone or deteriorated. Ice buck cracked. Hallway had not been vacumed in a couple days... Mostly little things, but not what I expect from a $150+/night hotel.
