Room is dated with not enough electrical outlets. Mattress was stiff to the point of being uncomfortable; could be remedied with a mattress pad/topper. Room was clean, relatively quiet and sufficient for our needs at a reasonable rate.

Think motel but older and smaller
The owner was friendly and helpful with recommendations. Thus motel is bare bones. Needs to be remodeled & updated. Tiny tiny bathroom. Had to practically bend whole body tj use the sink. We didn’t even use the smallest shower ever except maybe one in a motorhome. I read the reviews and had hoped for the very high price I definitely DID NOT get what I paid for.

We work very hard to maintain the historical culture of the inn while still offering the modern day convenience.Our guest rooms are kept spotless along with a mountain view. We realize not everyone can appreciates the history of our beautiful inn. Maybe the Holiday inn would be a better fit for you. Be well.

Worst towels of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I understand the concept of mom and pop, but there seemed to be no pride in making this a pleasant experience. Very mediocre. Liked location but there was some road noise. Disappointing at best.

The support staff (Royce and Luce) here at the Inn are very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean and in good shape. All in all a good value and a very positive experience.

we were in a little house apart from the motel which is in general cute but it was very cold during the night and the stand heating could not make it . Internet was kind of non existant.

When we checked in at the School House Inn, the attendant told us to go to our assigned room and she would bring the key and check the room. After about 10 minutes, I went to find her and she said that we needed to go to the attendant at the North Conway Mountain Inn (owned by the same people). The attendant there was very friendly and very helpful. The ratings here are for that inn, not the School House Inn.

Easy to find property right on the highway. Small comfortable room. But had to go to office to get a tool of toilet paper and they do not refresh the room during your stay.

Hotel is older but very clean and very nice staff. I prefer to support local small businesses instead of chains. The bed was very comfortable and I would stay there again.

Wonderful cozy cabin! Management couldn’t have been nicer. I called to say I was going to be arriving later in the evening, past their check in hours and they were very accommodating. They turned the lights, tv and heat on in our cabin and left the key for us. It was so welcoming and nice to walk into when we arrived. The cabin was charming and clean! In the morning, the man at the front desk told us the story and history of the motel and the cabin we had stayed in, he also gave us suggestions on where to go for breakfast. Friendly, accommodating and affordable- we will be back!

Old motel as expected
It was about what you would expect for an inexpensive motel. A little run down, creaky doors, floors, beds, etc. On the positive side, it was spacious and we all slept well.

This property is aged but in good condition. It is reminiscent of a late 1950s motel. The motel is clean and comfortable (to a point). It has potential to be rated quite well but there are a few features that might be improved upon: These were discussed with the owner's representative and I was told they will be passed upward. The price for the amenities offered is too high... the room's bathroom is very small although it was recently renovated; the sink is outside of the toilet and shower area in the main room; The lighting is barely adequate and an overhead lamp would resolve that criticism; There is a small dressing table placed close to the bed but no place to sit either to play a game of cards, eat a meal or sit to interview someone. A small drop-leaf table was suggested as a solution; There were no places to place suitcases - folding racks would resolve that criticism. The property is not listed as having any amenities and that is true. However, with no amenities, the price is quite high $130 US given the age of the property. I would stay again because it is clean, but not because of ambiance, amenities or price.

Hi Allen. Thanks for the review. You are correct, this is a 1950's motel. Although it was built in 1890 as one of the original North Conway Elementary Schools, it has been a motel since 1954, the longest running in North Conway. To be correct, you paid 108.00 and I feel you received appropriate value.

The motel is in need of a refresh. There was a patched hole in the bathtub, the toilet was extraordinarily low, the mattress was very uncomfortable, and the front office had to show us how to turn the tv on by doing something behind the tv, because the remote did not work. The carpet did appear to be new. We will not be staying here again.

Hi Carol. Sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. You are correct, this is the oldest motel in North Conway, circa 1890. It was built as one of the original North Conway Elementary Schools. Most people love this property for its charm, sorry you did not see that. Perhaps a traditional "Comfort Inn" style property would be a better fit for you. Just to clarify a few things though, the tv works fine but you switched input when using the remote so it had to be reset, which we did promptly. The toilet is an American Standard from Lowe's, same as you would find in millions of homes and businesses across the country.

Not very quite
We stayed 2 nights in a cottage, we were under the impression from the pictures that the cottages were single but they had two rooms in each, which in itself was not a problem, but ours was very close to the road and was very loud due to the traffic. Reading info on their sister property, it had balconies which would have much better since sitting on the porch of the cottage was not relaxing. Otherwise, place was clean, dated but thats the charm of New Hampshire If i had known ahead of time about the cottage proximity to the road, i would have requested a different one.The other thing I wanted to mention, when booking this property specified you could pay at the place, this was not the case, our card was charged before we got there.

It says book now and pay later and clearly states that "later" means five days prior to arrival. I am sorry that you misunderstood but I feel that it is very straightforward wording. Great place to stay. Totally quaint, would like to see a small table, between the (2) nice chairs inside, to have a place to eat when eating inside. Other than that, very nice!

My only real negative, and for me a big one, an ash tray outside the room on a table next to a chair was loaded with cigarette butts, and I could smell it in the room as well, maybe the last patron didnt smoke in the room but certainly carried the smell into the confined quarters. To me one of the most repulsive smells there is!!!!!!!!!! Not a pleasant experience. Probably won't revisit Schoolhouse.

Like most hotels guest are allowed to smoke in the parking lot. It would have taken less time to simply tell a staff member then it did for you to write this review. School House Inn is a Cool place with a deep history in N. Conway.. Stayed in a cabin built in the late 1800’s.. Can’t tell from the modern interior.. It was quiet and relaxing.. Plenty of good shopping and places to eat minutes away.. The Staff is Very Nice and Accommodating.. It’s a Great Inn and nice to park right at your room door.. I’m the Inn type of person.. instead of hotel with hallways … The School House is a Great Place to Stay at Reasonable Rates and Good Staff…!

Schoolhouse Inn was great. We had a quiet and comfortable cabin. Amenities werefie. Royce, the owner, and his family were friendly and helpful. Rooms were also very reasonably priced. We will be back.

Always drove by but never stopped in. We're so glad we did. We slept in the original schoolhouse room. Very clean and cute. Had super loud neighbors with the thin walls.

What a great place to stay, we chose the cabin, rustic but very clean, perfect for us. The people who run it are so very nice, it’s family run and what a great bunch they are. When I go to New Hampshire again this is where I will go, every time. We had the best time and loved the quiet cabin with an enclosed deck in the rear very private, we had so much fun relaxing out there after a busy day. Great place.

Rustic charm galore. If you want ikea modern this is not for you. The cabin we stayed in was cosy wood lined rustic and comfortable. The mattresses on the queen beds were squishy but comfortable. The shower was hot. The toilet was clean. Everything worked. No complaints. 5 stars considering the price
