Charming Salty Dog
The Salty Dog was just as lovely as the photos we saw online. It's has beautiful water views and is a short walk to the dog friendly beach. Wendy and Mark were wonderful hosts and thought of every detail. From snacks for both us and our pup upon arrival as well as a very detailed Welcome Book with information about the apartment, dog friendly restaurants, and things to do in the area. They were readily available in the event we had any further questions or needed any assistance. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Wonderful ! It was meant to be .. our staying at the cottage. Hosts were wonderful , cottage immaculate, close to beach . We enjoyed the fire pit after Thanksgiving dinner and the water . Very quiet and we napped in the Carolina room because the dogs loved being out there. Thanks to our hosts for making it perfect ! The Millers

Beautiful place !
The Salty Dog cottage was so lovely and so peaceful ! The beach was just a walk across the street . Wendy and Mark were so pleasant ! We brought my elderly Dad , he had the best time relaxing in the backyard area over looking the intercostal. The area was just perfect . Not far at all from any grocery store or any local restaurant. We so recommend this place . I forgot to mention dog friendly too ! We brought our golden doodle and cockapoo. Perfect stay 😎☀️🐶🐶

The cottage was beautifully decorated and clean. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the dock watching the fish jump and the beautiful view. Just a short walk across the street to the beautiful beach. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. We will stay here again.

This is the second time that my wife, twin boys and mini golden doodle have stayed at the Salty Dog. We love the location and how close it is to the beach. The place is always well stocked, clean and beautifully decorated. Wendy is a delight to deal with and very responsive. She is like a family member and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Our family stayed at the Salty Dog Cottage June 10-17th and it was perfect! The location is spectacular, a 2 minute walk out the front door and directly across the street is the public beach access. It was so convenient and we had almost considered renting a golf cart but we did not need it and this particular beach access is not a parking location. Sitting out back and watching the sunset over the marsh was stunning. The kids had a great time with the crab basket and floating around in the water after we were all beached out. I particularly enjoyed the first floor access with no stairs - it made packing and unpacking a breeze. The cottage was perfect size for us as we hang outside more than we do in but our fav was the Carolina room playing cards and/or watching TV after dark. Everything you need was provided. You may want to note, although it was fine for us, that there is a 2 burner stove and a counter top multi-function toaster oven (not full size). It did not hinder us at all we cooked every evening. There is one bathroom which for the most part was fine for us - just plan for it so the fam doesn't start pee pee dancing all over the place - and the men 100% can't sit in there for 40 minutes watching TikTok when there is a line lol! Wendy and Mark (Hank and RIP) are the most gracious hosts and we enjoyed our conversations with them, getting to know them and kinda feel like they are friends now. Not that you even have to ask but they accommodate anything!

The hidden gem!
What a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful fully equipped home with everything you need. Very clean and nice backyard for dogs. 2 min walk to the beach. Beach cart with wonderful chairs and umbrella and cooler. Wendy and Mark are great people and are there to make your stay the best. If you are looking for a home away from home with to relax with your furry child this is the place to go! Thanks again to Mark and Wendy.

We absolutely loved our weeklong stay at The Salty Dog Cottage. Wendy and her husband were the best. Very friendly. We made new friends. The deck over the inlet was awesome. We spent alot of time on it drinking coffee and having cocktails. The beds were so comfortable and the Cottage had everything we needed and more. We will be staying there again and I am sure it will be next year!!!

Superb hosts!
Wendy and Mark are excellent hosts. Everything you and your pooch might need is at your fingertips. We loved the feel of the Salty Dog! It’s decorated so nicely with special touches around every corner. The back yard looks out over the marsh and the beach is a minute away! We would highly recommend this rental to anyone especially someone looking to take their dog along.

Dog Friendly Stay by the Sound
One of our favorite things about the Salty Dog Cottage was the backyard, which overlooks the sound, and being less than two blocks away from both the beach and a wonderful view of the nightly sunsets. From the moment we arrived, the tin of dog treats and personalized water and food bowls showed how dog focused the property is. The Carolina Room was ideal for both reading and doing puzzles, and getting to go kayaking was an unexpected bonus that made our stay even more enjoyable. Our young adult daughter is a gluten free vegetarian so I was a little concerned about only having a toaster oven and not a conventional one, however, it worked perfectly for all six nights we cooked dinner. Wendy and Mark are great hosts and the cottage is as beautifully decorated as it appears in the photographs.
