This property is very unique and has so much character. It's a little off the beaten path to be sure but it is so charming and the staff members are friendly and welcoming There is a talking bird (he might be the manager) and two very friendly dogs to greet you. Our room was quite large and very clean and quiet. Our dinner in the restaurant was very good. We walked around the property a bit and would have gone out to the hot pot but there were several guests enjoying it and it seemed rude to intrude on them. We did stop to make friends with some of the horses. The breakfast buffet was huge and I was sorry that we couldn't stay for breakfast as we needed to get an early start. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to friends.

Super friendly staff. Property is maybe 15 minutes drive on a dirt road but is totally worth the drive. Probably our favourite stay in Iceland. 3 x hot pots on site. They grow a lot of their own food. Regrettably didn’t have a chance to try any. BEAUTIFUL surroundings. Lovely room.

This property is a farm. It smells awful. The hot tub is filled with grime and bugs. The bathroom is thinner than my closet at home and the shower has a shower curtain which is an instant fail from me - the curtain gets sucked into your butt as you shower. Shower curtains are gross

Wonderful property and charming character! Lucked out, as right after checking in there was an arctic fox just outside the doorway. The breakfast was one of the best I had during my trip in Iceland. Their smoked salmon was, by far, the best I had.

Very remote inn in Westfjords with natural hot pot
This inn (and working farm) is located in a very isolated area of Iceland, the WestFjords. It is the only inn or even restaurant for many, many miles off a gravel road so it is really a destination. The inn has a pleasant vaulted ceiling reception and restaurant. Breakfast and Dinner were delicious and reasonably priced. Our room was modest but sufficient. This inn has an indoor pool, 2 outdoor hot tubs and then another natural hot pot located on the property about 100 meters/yards from the rest of the facility across a stream (so wear your water shoes). This was the highlight for us as we had been looking for a natural hot pot to experience the true Iceland.

Overall happy with our stay at this guesthouse. Charming little property in the Westfjords. We appreciated the cleanliness of our rooms and the comfy beds. Please note that there is absolutely no restaurant or grocery etc anywhere close to this guesthouse so I suggest reserving a table at the restaurant upon arrival. I wasn't personally very impressed with the food that seemed a tad outdated for the price but it was still an enjoyable experience regardless. We really appreciated using the thermal hot pool outside as well as visiting the greenhouse.

Great facilities and staff. Small guesthouse which makes the facilities all the more enjoyable. Greenhouse pool and outside hot pools were fabulous to relax and unwind in. The guesthouse hall for check in and meals was charming with a wonderful atmosphere and had an upstairs nook for further relaxation. The visiting of the artic fox was well announced and wonderful to see her doing so well. A really homely, warm and country character place that I wished we had spent longer at.

Country hotel was a wonderful stay and the people there very friendly. The pool is so-so, not clean and inside the green house. More of a "natural"pool. lol There aren't any marked hiking trails but we walked along the river or you can walk along the road to the water. It is a working farm. They have a green house and serve farm grown lettuce and vegetables. They raise their own which is on the menu. Food was very good but there are no other restaurants near by, very secluded. Offers horse rides.

Service was outstanding from all the staff (a family owned property)! This is THE place for animal lovers! 2 dogs, a talking and dancing African Grey parrot, horses (can pet them), and a wild fox (Thora) who comes to get fed every morning, less than 5 ft from people. The pool was inside a greenhouse, and is not chlorinated, so had some algal growth (I wasn’t comfy swimming in it), but there were a couple folks who used the hot pot (natural-sided hole with thermal water dripped into it by pipe) just outside the greenhouse. Out of the two connecting hot pots, the top one was usable (bottom was overrun with algal growth). Food exceeded expectations (breakfast buffet and dinner entrees). Would stay again in a heartbeat. Room and shower were perfect. Staff were so helpful in every way.

The oasis at the end of a dirt road
Wonderful people, food, cleanliness, and would totally recommend. I’ll admit traipsing through a decent snowbank and mud immed before our room door with no effort whatsoever to improve this was a total downer—and wouldn’t be difficult to fix.
