We are always trying to improve our services, however, sometimes little things do get missed and we apologize and have followed up with our cleaning staff. (For the record, the towels were in the dryer not the washer.) Mahalo!

Dear Harris, I have to admit your review has totally caught us by surprise. First because of the blatant exaggerations you wrote in your review and secondly because we worked with you from the very beginning by helping you with a last-minute reservation because you claim the house you had reserved had cancelled on you at the last minute. You asked if we could discount our rate to match the rate of that house, which we generously gave you. A couple of days prior to your check-in we contacted you about the remote possibility of construction noise from the unit below due to emergency repairs to the main water line. We were upfront with you about this possibility and gave you the option of cancelling the reservation with a complete refund. You claim you did find another place at a comparable rate but wanted to keep our reservation but asked for yet another discount. Again, we gave you another generous discount. Since you seem to think of yourself as an expert on home repairs, I would like to point out to you that water leaks are a very serious issue, especially since our condo is on the second floor. There were no water leaks under any of the toilets or sinks prior to your checking in. You should have reported these leaks to us immediately!!! Regarding the time it takes to walk to the beach, as every knows, the amount of time it takes to walk from one place to another is going to be different for each person. In my description I did say it was a close 5-minute walk. While it wasn’t an accurate time for you and your family, keep in mind it was meant as an estimate only. Your “disappointment” that our condo is not “on the beach” is a totally misleading complaint on your part. There is no place in my listing that I stated we were “on the beach”. Yes, there is ONE towel rack that is missing the rack. It has not been “ripped” from the wall as you described. The screw to one of the holders didn’t grip into the wall and will be reattached before our next check in. (This is a very small towel rack and is hidden behind the shower wall.) Your description of “paint peeling everywhere” is also another one of your exaggerations. Our upstairs half bath is the last area that needs to be renovated and there is some paint peeling above the light. The plans for this renovation has been in the works for quite some time. Unfortunately, the contractor who is scheduled to renovate this room last year has been out recovering from surgery. There are also a couple of small marks, mainly in the hallway, that have been bumped into by suitcases and need to be puttied and repainted. This is common wear and tear for vacation rentals. Your comments about the furniture being “old and worn” is also an exaggeration. The decor I have chosen is of vintage Hawaiiana. The only furniture I can think of that you are referring to are the two bamboo chairs and matching table in the living room. I kept these chairs because not only are they comfortable, but I like the look of them. The rest of the furniture throughout the condo was all purchased new. I hope anyone who reads Mr. Harris’s review will take the time to read all the previous 5-star reviews and you will see Mr. Harris’s review is a one-off and should be discounted.
