Exactly what we hoped for!
We were so happy to have a play just outside of Fayetteville...where I used to live. It was a short drive to town, yet we could have some peace and privacy by going back to our cabin. The property was exactly as advertised, although the road was a bit closer than I thought, but not an issue at all. We liked having a hot tub for relaxing and the kitchen had all the basic amenities for cooking. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

The stay was absolutely incredible. i’ve seen a trend lately in some other properties on other platforms, where I have stayed where they oversell and underdeliver on amenities of their property. This property was completely different. The hot tub worked perfectly. There were several towels, appliances, kitchenware and accommodations inside the house that were fantastic. The heating and air worked perfectly. Parking was great and close to everything. 10/10 going back and 10/10 recommend.

Thanksgiving in WV again after 15 years
It was so quiet and peaceful the hot tub was a super plus. The views were beautiful. If you like to hike, zip line and water rafting this is the perfect location for you to stay.

Nice, but some suggestions…
Overall, it was a nice visit. There were parts of the cabin that weren’t swept and/or dusted. We also felt that the bedding could have been replaced for what we paid. Pillows had stuffing coming out of them, etc.. The cabin we stayed in was right next to the highway and very noisy. It would have also been nice if we could have opened the windows.

Clean, easy to access cabin
The cabin was clean, relatively easy to find and the check in/out process was the easiest of any rental I’ve used. It was right off the main highway, which was convenient but did bring some unwanted road noise. Overall a great stay!!

Great week!
We had a great week at Mountaineer #1. We picked this location as a midpoint between NRG and Summersville Lake. We love the water and wanted a few options! First off, the location was perfect. We spent time on the river, hiking in the National Park, and enjoying Fayetteville. We were also able to spend several days on Summersville Lake, with our kayaks as well as in a rental boat. Babcock State Park was also close and the hiking was great there too! We took one day to go to Lewiston to explore and to go to the cave. The cabin itself was adorable. It was spotless on arrival. The porch was awesome for post-activity relaxation - there was a charcoal grill, a porch swing, a rocker and an Adirondack chair on ours. The kitchen had decent knives for a rental but best was a GAS STOVE! For those of you who love to cook, that was an amazing find. It also had a dishwasher but we never used it. The bathroom had a nice shower and was very clean. The bedrooms each had a sink and a mirror, also very useful when the bathroom was occupied. We only used one bed - we are a firm bed loving couple, so it was a little soft for us, but no lumps and bumps and the linens were very comfortable. We slept well! The hot tub house was very quaint and clean, comfortable and easy to use. No spiders ;) The only thing to be aware of is the Wi-Fi. If you need it to work or do a college class, you won’t have the best luck here. It is best for emails and messaging bc the cell service isn’t good.

Love it!
We had a great time staying at this cabin! It was very clean and close to new river gorge. Being pet friendly was an added bonus for us to take our pup. The hot tub is enclosed for privacy, which was nice.

The cabin experience was awful. The beds were atrocious and we could not sleep as a result. The towel racks were all moldy and there were mouse traps hidden around the cabin. The hot tub was covered in spiders and the temperature was not easy to control. Importantly, it is on a main highway with loud trucks usuing their brakes regularly, so nothing about the experience was tranquil. I never give bad reviews unless it feel necessary to warn other potential guests to.not stay here.

Best Cabin yet.
We’ve stayed at a few other cabins in the past but this was by far the best one. It was also close to all the places we wanted to go. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone considering this one.

Exactly what we were looking for!
We traveled from Ohio to kayak on the Gorge and hike with our dog. The cabin was perfect for us! It was clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen, was close to food and activities, wifi worked well, and the hot tub really set it off! We also really liked all the games there. The traffic noise didn’t bother us at all. There were people in the other cabin close to ours and we didn’t see or hear them the entire time. It’s as secluded as you can get if you want the city within close driving distance.

A charming cabin!
The cabin was perfect for my family's needs. We loved leaving the front door open and listening to the birds singing as the rain fell. The front porch swing was a delight, and the proximity to the trails and gorge were excellent! Paul was very gracious when my inability to unlock the house turned out to be my error. We definitely would stay again!

Cozy in the cold!
The cabin was immaculately clean, and the heat pump and fireplace kept us warm and cozy during December’s extreme cold snap. While it was snowy outside and never got above freezing outside, we were warm as toast inside. We cooked on the gas stove, watched movies, and played games. The heat pump had a very noisy, unbalanced fan that I told the owner about, and I’m sure it will be addressed. Bring coat hangers, as there are none provided, and no coat hooks!

Isolated with easy access to surrounding areas!
2nd year in a row we stayed here and stayed 8 nights! Paul is responsive; the place was clean; nice fireplace and firepit; and the hot-tub is quite relaxing in the chilly evenings after a long day of exploring and hiking. Plenty to do and see with some nice beer pubs and breweries. The newly opened Don Rizo Mexican Kitchen and Cantina was excellent. Last year jigsaw puzzles were available but not this year, so we bought one from Walmart , solved it, and left it.

Nice property and location! Boys enjoyed the hot tub and fire ring. We were dreading the mattresses from other reviews as we have bad backs and use a sleep number bed, but it wasn’t bad we both felt fine in the morning! Location was great as we went to gorge and lake so right in the middle to enjoy both!

Double Booked that ended up great!
Somehow I ended up double booked with another couple but the property owner stepped up and resolved it quickly. The property was exactly what I was wanting. Hot tub was great. Rooms were big enough but not to big. Definately had the little cabin in the woods feeling, which was exactly what I was looking for. Would highly recommend!

Nice setting... missing amenities
The cabin is comfortable but doesn't include all the amenities. No shampoo and there is no hairdryer, period. Thankfully I saw the previous review and brought one. I couldn't get the code to work on the laundry and just stretched the towels to last (we were there for 5 days). So I'd add a star if the listing was accurate and it was easier to communicate issues. The beds were uncomfortably soft for us.

Cute cabin with some issues
Cute cabin amid a cluster of cabins, with inadequate signage to find it. There was a banner covering the Mountaineer cabin sign. It would have been better if we had been directed to the cc Auto repair parking lot. The cabin community was at the end of the parking lot. Once we found the cabin, we discovered the listing was inaccurate. There was no soap for the shower ,shampoo, or hairdryer. The owner responded by saying he never provided those items and would correct the listing. Those items which we thought would be in the cabin we’re not, and we had to supply them ourselves. There were lots of bugs inside the cabin. But, of course, we were in the woods. The mattresses on the beds were mushy with two valleys separated by a hump. The hot tub was in a very dark shed. Not very appealing. It was a bit far from all the activities in the park and from any restaurants or stores. It was nice to have the ability to do laundry, but we had to ask where to find the laundry building and what the code was for the door. There was a lovely fireplace which was very cozy during the thunderstorm. Be sure to bring your own wood and fire starting materials.

My cabin banner is a lot smaller than CC auto banner (3FT X 6ft) but visble. I am sorry about the soap not being included in your experience. As I told you, I have owned these cabins for 6 years and no one has every complained. I changed the listing the day you brought the listing to my attention. The cabin does have a hairdryer. I am sorry you didn't find it. The information that I sent you prior to arrival tells cutomers about the wash room and how to get in it. I am sorry that you didn't read that part of my welcome directions. 99% of of my reviews mention how close the cabins are to everything. I guess distance is in the eyes of the beholder. I am sorry you didn't like the shed where the hot tub us located. Most folks like the privacy

Great stay! The cabin is perfect for a small family--anymore people and you would probably be on top of each other! The host was very responsive, and it was close to everything that we wanted to do. Great recommendations for restaurants and activities. The hot tub was especially large and lovely for all 4 of us!

A very enjoyable stay!
What a lovely stay we had here!! Loved enjoying the hot tub at night, it was nice and clean too. We also brought charcoals to grill some food outside which was great! Plenty of great things to do in the area. The cabin is located close to many places!
