Kitchen was the best stocked I’ve ever stayed at. Location great. Dianne’s cottage was a bit deceiving in that it was farther away than we anticipated. Check in was a bit goofy. Could have just emailed me the code. Not all of the info for getting in the extra cottages was handy. Had to call for the code to get into Diane’s cottage. Had to hunt for the key to the other cottage. The pool was not clean. Bought shock stuff to put in it but did not help. The real issue was bug bites, which we assumed were from the yard. By the second night I thought we were going to have to leave. I bought insect stuff to spray on the screens and put on pathway to water. Couldn’t go on the grass at all. My mother was still having issues 2 days after we left. I hope they were from the yard!

Great house
The only con for us. Pool is not heated. Water was too low to fish off the dock and parking a pontoon boat was tricky. Besides that this was a perfect house for the 9 of us. Located just far enough from the spring breakers but not to far to run to the store or dinner. VERY clean and loved the beds. Very quiet area.

Family Vacation
The property is very nice! It was my first experience using VRBO, so I was a little nervous, my dad and husband love to fish so it was perfect! Other than maybe a heated pool I have no complaints & that’s not something I expected to have! THANK YOU for a place to make great family memories

Beautiful Hidden Gem
We absolutely love the house all the beautiful Spanish details. The kitchen is one of the best stocked kitchens I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. Could use additional silverware. The grounds are amazing and we love the fairies and contributed to their garden. The pool was the perfect hangout for sun and relaxing. However the black flys were bad in Aug. Fishing off the pier was so much fun and playing cards and games in the screened porch. Wonderful property, hated to leave because it was so relaxing. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing!
My family had such a good time here. The house was perfect and the yard and privacy was a bonus. We pretty much lived in the pool. I would definitely recommend!

Large Families
The place is set up very nicely for large family gatherings. My wife & I booked this place for the 2 of us, our 4 adult kids with their spouses & our 7 grand kids ranging in age from 2 to 12 years old. There are 4 bedrooms & 2 full baths within the main house. There is a small cottage just outside the backdoor of the main house with a full bath & 2 queen beds in the cottage. There is a 2nd cottage out front of the main house that has a full bath, a small kitchen, a small living room with a pull out couch & a separate bedroom area. The pool was a great addition for keeping the grand kids entertained when there was down time during the week. The dock allowed fishing & setting crab traps throughout our week long stay. Although the kitchen appears to be stocked with everything you would need during your stay, it is very disorganized. You may have to open every cabinet to find something but odds are that it is in the kitchen somewhere. We are currently planning a cruise for next years family trip. The entire family enjoyed the place & we will probably return @ some point in the future.

Fun Family Vacation
We absolutely loved our stay at Pelican Bay!! There was plenty of room for our family to all stay together. We loved the little cottages on the property. We loved the pool and access to the water! We would love to stay here again!

Canadian Family Getaway
This hardly ever happens, but the house and property were even better than we imagined! Plenty of room for everyone to have some personal space, and lots of gathering places for the whole gang come meal time. We spent every evening down by the dock. The only thing that could be improved is the wifi in the outbuildings and on the grounds. The weather was a little chilly for us to use the pool (mid April) but the younger brave ones did take a quick dip. Overall, we all agreed that we would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic holiday!

Great private get away
From check in to check out, this was a great experience. A beautiful, well cared for property with plenty of space for everyone. The purpose of our trip was for us to get together as a family, and for my father to meet his grand dogs. If you’ve been looking, you’ve run into many places that had weight limits for your dogs. I’m so glad that this place was so welcoming. My mother loved it so much that she already wants to plan another trip here, and she’s not easy to please. We would definitely come back.

Huge place for multiple guests
We enjoyed this property. Huge areas to sit and converse in the house. Best part was the enclosed sitting area by the bay. Just wished the pool was heated and we had a little trouble finding the place, but overall we highly recommend this property.

A very cozy get away
We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at Pelican Bay. The accommodations were great for my family and my nieces family. The separate privacy of the two cottages are so convenient. Kitchen was well stocked, main house is decorated beautifully and landscaping was beautifully groomed. We really enjoyed nightly gatherings at the Pier House to enjoy the sunsets. We could not have asked for better weather as well! The private pool was a fun gathering spot as well. The area is off the beaten path but lots to do for our young adult children.

Great stay for our EXTENDED family!
In short: We were pleased with our stay and WOULD DEFINITELY stay here again. This property worked VERY well for our VERY extended family! The house is 4 bedrooms which worked for my wife and me as hosts, our single son, our married daughter & her husband, and my aging father and stepmom. The two cottages were perfect for our daughter's family (mom/dad/4 kids 1-8 years old) and our son's family (dad/mom/one 10-month old)! The house stays as cool as you want - a big plus for the warm, humid weather we had. The kitchen was well equipped including a slow cooker and a pitcher for brewed tea or mixed lemonade, plus plenty of pots and pans to cook whatever you want. The private pool was nice (the water was clean, clear, and refreshing), and the private "cabana" screen room and pier were fun as well. The main house is older, so be prepared for a few things that are less than brand new: somewhat "rickety" kitchen cabinets, a "sticky" front door, and a few other odds & ends like that. NONE of these was significant or detracted from our overall stay and enjoyment. Google maps will try to take you in on "Shady Lane" which doesn't work. Apple maps has it right: turn north into the RV park just west of the house, and follow the small sign to turn right and access the driveway. If the configuration of the property (house & cottages) looks workable for your group, book it! You won't be disappointed.

Would possibly stay here again if the property was upgraded
This property is nice overall, but needs some TLC. I could make a pretty long list of things I expected to be nicer at this price, but I think the owner could do a walk through and figure it out on their own.

A wonderful vacation!
Pelican Bay was everything we hoped it would be!! It was wonderful spending time with the whole family and having room to spread out and still be in one place! The sunsets were amazing to watch and the best place to be was the pier house!! A wonderful time was had by all!!

Beautiful spacious property in need of upgrades.
PROS Very spacious. Love the open kitchen, decor, and plenty of space to gather- yet each group can have their own privacy with the extra cottages- which is perfect for teenagers. Love the bk yard views, pier, patio, fire pit, etc for outdoor relaxation and fun. Improvements Needed Pool was not clean and too cold- greater value if heated for year round usage. Must address/spray critters in home- saw multiple big cockroaches and spiders scattering around kitchen/cabinets. Check-in process was not efficient- with today’s technology one shouldn’t have to drive to another location just to pick up and drop off paper work to obtain code and check-in info. And most importantly while the home itself was beautiful the 2 bedrooms in the main house (minus the master) was horrible bedding. One of the absolute worst we’ve slept in and we travel a lot. Mattresses sunk in and squeaked just sitting down. For such a great property, the stay was not restful as the main house beds did not match the quality and pricing.

We left as soon as we could find a new condo/house
This place is filthy, we have photos of the dishes and disgusting brushes you’re expected to clean your dishes with (and lack of dish soap), we were literally swatting bugs away from our baby inside. The washer and dryer are in an outhouse.The listing is not accurate, this is not private. There is another house RIGHT by this main house without a gate or fence. The RV park has direct access to the house. Your pets / kids aren’t safe near the horribly maintained pier, the gate is way too large and my golden retriever walked right through it. The pool has a hole in it and hose water is going constantly - freezing and not clean. And the owner / reed real estate never respond to our concerns. We asked several times how to check in, finally found out after speaking to 2 people on the phone. No one has responded to our concerns or why we left the same day we checked in. I would avoid this at all costs! It’s not worth the price they’re charging, not sure why others leave great reviews- assuming they delete bad reviews

I loved this place for our family, something for everyone, room to spread out. The sreened porch next to the bay was so restful and breakfast and lunch in the main house screened porch was awesome. Grounds were awesome too and i enjoyed the pool, although it was too cold for the others. Note, we went 3rd week of October. Cottages were nice. Place us hard to find but, with some patience, you'll get there. Dock seemed deep enough for small boat or a pontoon, but nothing more. Caught lots of catfish. Kitchen pretty well stocked. Only two minor issues, one cottage had an AC issue and main house fridge ice maker was a little squirrely. But it was late October so that didn't bother us much. I would go there again, the place is unique and beautiful.

This property was amazing! We travel to the area several times per year and this was the most private and best we have expected. The fishing pier and screened area was spectacular! Private pool was amazing. Kitchen was large and all accomodations were more than adequate.

Great property
Three in one! This property consists of 3 buildings. A main house, a cottage, and a pool house. It has an outhouse with a washer/dryer and “outdoor” full bathroom. Pier is long and it has a wonderful screened gazebo, but as usual, Mobile Bay is so tidal, you can’t keep a boat in overnight…the only drawback, but it does have a great fish cleaning station. We had kids from 1 to 17 and adults. Great time!!!
