Front desk absolutely slandered my character due to where I parked at the facility. I had never been to the properly and was unsure where to park. They said I was “suspicious “ , I was appalled. I was told I was put on “the list” I was clueless what that was and why and he yelled at myself and my 2 year old to “get out” I never received my refund and I have decided to further investigate, because they made additional accusations I was in shock over. Because I am a female with a young child they stereotyped and I am not from that area. I had no idea how honestly trashy is the right word. Customer service is disgraceful.

Booked the room through a 3rd party as I always do. Checked in she asked how many kids I had, usually it’s never a problem we always get a double bed room with a couch, well I guess they didn’t have the couch. They told us we would have to get another room or get a refund so I requested the refund due to we weren’t gettin another room. The lady at the front desk told me to call the 3rd party customer service and have them call the hotel to receive the refund. Did all that just to be told I could not receive a refund due to their policy but yet they wouldn’t allow us to stay in our room as we were and one of the kids weren’t even staying the night. I used to go to this place as a kid, never again will I take my family not recommend anyone else to go. Their beds are very small so if you are expecting to have more than 4 ppl total in the room, don’t do it. Very upset I wasn’t able to get my money back

We are very sorry you did not have a good experience with us. When you were checking in we asked how many people it would be and you responded 6, you were informed that the room would only allow 4 people. You right away said I'm not buying another one you just need to give us the room, then told the front desk one of the kids was not staying, at which point she told you that she would work with you having 5 people for the room. When you walked past the desk to go into the dome you had 7 people with you, you were stopped and told you would have to get a second room with that many people, but you completely ignored them and went straight into the pool with all your guests. The front desk then came back to you and you said you paid for a room you could have whoever you wanted in it at which point you were told you paid for a room for 4 people and nothing more, she then said if you did not want to get an additional room to fit all your guests that you could leave and get a refund if that was what you wanted to do, to which you responded you were all leaving and you wanted your money back which was when she told you that if you go ahead and leave that you could call Expedia and get a refund for your room. You did not leave, you along with all of your guests did stay and continue to use the pool, hot tub, and arcade. You all had also used the room which made it unable to resell that night. For those reasons, we were unable to issue your refund. When booking your reservation through Expedia you also lied and said it would only be 2 adults, had you been honest and put the correct number of guests they wouldn't have even allowed you to book only that one room. You were warned before even checking in about the number of guests allowed, you chose to lie and try to sneak extras in and completely ignore our policies and our employees when trying to tell you about them. Had you left right away after we told you the first time about having too many guests, we would have been able to issue the refund for you. In the future, we strongly recommend being honest about the number of people that will be on the property, you would be able to avoid all the issues you had while here.

The rooms are fun. However when we booked we weren’t told what themed room we would get. I was under the impression it was the race track but it was not. The room smelled like weed and was really dark. Other than that the room was nice. Had our own jacuzzi tub, bar area and even a booth to sit at. The bathroom was really nice as well. However the breakfast was very unappealing and was not good.

the whole place is honestly really great. the front desk people were really nice and helpful. the pool area is so nice, clean, and relaxing. the rooms/ hotel are really quiet. we had neighbors and only knew because we saw them. we never heard anything really except for the occasional car and airplane but that’s to be expected this close to the airport and with outdoor corridor rooms. the room was also super accessible. it’s really just run down here, but nothing is dirty, or gross; just old, dated, and a little busted up but that really just makes it a more endearing place if i’m being honest. we ended up staying an extra night because of the hours of a museum we wanted to see, and the front staff were super accommodating and helped us get a decent rate. i was hesitant to book at first because of some of the bad reviews, but i genuinely don’t understand why anyone who is practical about what they’re booking would leave a bad review. i’m really glad we chose to stay here and if we come back to the area i wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

The mattresses are worn out. Housekeeping did not clean room the entire 3 days we were there. I even told one of the staff that we would be out of the room so they could clean but it still didn't get done. Had to go get our own bath towels. I will never stay at your facility again nor will I recommend it to anyone.

The sinks and bathtubs was rusted, the phones didn't work. The intros was marked up like they had been burned. There was dirt everywhere, and only 2 towels and 2 washcloths per room. Staff was rude and charged extra $25 per room for phones not working. Who knew you had to pay for working phones.

It does look like you stayed for the whole visit and you were even late checking out and got very rude with the front desk staff. We apologize if you were not able to locate the rest of the towels and washcloths in the room. I'm not really sure why you think you were charged 25 for a phone not working, you actually prepaid through a third party so we did not directly charge you for the room or anything.

I loved the spa tub it was great. The pool was great but my 8 yr old daughter cut the bottom of her toe pretty good where the bottom of the pool is chipping. Some of the arcade games are great but some didn't work. Love going here though it's a great little get away for the family. Could use an update though

Pool hours were terrible. The pool had cracks in the bottom so it was easy to cut yourself. Rooms were musty. Dirty bed bugs. Breakfast bar was crap.

The property is showing signs of aging. It was clean, but well-worn. The staff was very helpful in all facets of my stay. I was very comfortable and I’ll probably stay there again on my way to FL next year.

Always stay here so I know what I sign up for. But this stay was a lil different the hotub jet had no pressure. An it had like a waste smell,sh*t smell. The shower had no hot water. The fridge is great kept everything cold!!

At check in you did not even mention you have two dogs. when our staff saw you left dogs in car. we call and asked about dogs then you told us you have dogs and we informed you about pet fees which you did not want pay and you decide to leave. Just FYI every hotel do charge pet fees if guest tell at check in they have pets.Thanks

This hotel used to be a motel so it is false advertising. The jacuzzi in room has no ventilation so steam ruined the ceiling and walls. Mold in bathroom along floors, sink pulled away from wall in bathroom, tiles around jacuzzi are broken and have fallen through, jets in tub shoot out cold water, table and headboard are scraped up n worn down with tons of dust. A trip to the Ark
We loved the hotel. Although we didn't get a chance to use the pool or jacuzzi the tropical theme was beautiful. The continental breakfast was good, could use some improvement such as possibly some donuts or danishes and some kind of cereal for children ( frosted flakes & raisin bran) are more for adults. But all in all it was good. The girl that worked the front desk when we checked in was very niceand helpful. Our room was supposed to be on the 2nd floor but due to no elevator and my husband having an electric scooter she moved us into a room on the first floor so we would be able to take the scooter into the room to charge the battery. The room itself was clean and comfortable, could use some cosmetic touch ups. Especially the electrical outlets. They all were stripped so we ended up having to buy extension cords and plug them in the power strip by the TV and run them across the room so we could plug out phones in to charge. The price was affordable and was in a good location. We would definitely stay there again if we are ever in the area.

Some outlets didn’t work. The tv was bolted to the night stand (apparently it’s a high crime area and people steal tvs) other than that it was a decent stay. Great wolf lodge in mason ohio would be a better alternative. The shower curtain was cloth so water would get all on the ground.

I'm really not sure what to make of this review. You state about the outlets, we will address that. The TV being bolted down has more to do with it not falling over and breaking than stealing. Common sense could come into play. You should not compare hotels, GWL is nothing like our hotel, and probably 3-4 times more expensive. Nobody ever complains about the shower curtain, if you put it inside the tub, no leaks. If you leave any type of shower curtain hanging out of the tub, you will get water running down onto the floor. Then to say it was a decent stay otherwise makes no sense

This was by far one of the worst places I have stayed in. The pictures on website are old and not current. This place hos cobwebs dirt broken furniture springs coming out of bed.. such an uncomfortable stay. The staff is not very nice just one guy was a pleasure he is why we decided to go ahead and stay another night. There are peeling tint on windows, broken mirrors, tubs are gross bathrooms door didn't work well and ac unit is so loud we had trouble sleeping.. the floors were so dirty my slippers were black.. the pool area and game area had water everywhere and it was very slippery . Pool had cracked bottom. The outside was awful... none of the pictures looked like this place looks now. The dressers were nailed shut. It stinks and we had to switch room . Even the the phones didn't work and neither did frig.. I took video and pics and would gladly share because I am so unhappy. Advise to find another place until after the "said" renovations are done which by the look should take years. :(

We are sorry to hear of this. I'm not sure how you would have been able to enjoy yourself, as it seems like you spent all your time making this list of everything that you could find wrong with the property. I am the Manager and I'm pretty sure that I was the nice employee you referred to if you were this unhappy, I would have told you not to stay, furthermore, I'm not sure why you would have stayed. We checked the refrigerator and microwave and both were working. As for the moving rooms, you complained about the sheets, so we moved you to try and accommodate you which didn't seem to work. The renovations might take a while, in the meantime maybe you should look for 4 or 5-star properties that sound like what you want.

Diamond In The Rough has Seen Better Days
This place (Oct 2023) has definitely seen better days. Sunday before Columbus/Indigenous Day and there were maybe 15 guests on property, ofc the pool and hot tub area were nearly abandoned. The hot tub waterfall was not running (not a problem from me). I heard from people who had been coming here for decades that yes, the staff yelling at me for drinking a water in the hot tub is normal for this place now. The grounds were messy with broken glass peeling paint etc, but somehow my room looked basically perfect.

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We had more than 15 guests on Sunday, but you wouldn't know that. Very few people used the pool that night, not sure why. We are admittedly an older property, but clean and are doing renovations. Not sure where you are referring to when you are referring to broken glass, paint peeling, etc. but we're glad your room was up to par.
