Perfect location close to the blue gate. That is very important if one wants to find his way in Fes. There are also some good restaurants and coffee houses nearby. Riad looks beautiful and authentically Moroccan. However, some of the ceilings are low, some rooms are on the upper floors, and some of the plumbing is defective. It seems that rooms are of various size and quality, despite belonging to the same category. Rooftop terrace is beautiful, if you don't mind climbing 4 floors. Breakfast is a standard Moroccan fare (breads, jam, butter, honey, juice, coffee). It was very nice that Riad organized a taxi to pick me up at railway station (for a small fee), and then one of the staff (Mr Ali) escorted me from the old city gate to the Riad. When I booked the room on the smartphone, they immediately got in touch with me via e-mail. The staff can also find you a city guide, or arrange an excursion. The staff speaks French, and some of them can use English. I liked staying there, and I would recommend this place. It may be not ok for those who expect higher comfort, but that is hard to find in ancient cities.
