Welcome to Lakeside Escape, we are Jonathan and Gail Steidl and excited to share this luxurious one kind cabin with you and your family. Our guests cannot say enough on how beautiful our home is and one of the best places that have visited. Our home is your home! located in Westfield, WI on Pleasant Lake in beautiful Waushara County, WI, our 4300 sq. ft. vacation home has all that you need to have the best get-a-way possible.

Exquisitely decorated and complete with 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, 3 TV's with Union Telephone, super fast Wifi, we have a router with 3 Google points to cover internet to the whole house. Also including a jumbo 70- inch flat screen in the living room, spacious lake front recreation playground with over a 136 feet of frontage on a sandy beach, you will find it hard to leave! Oh did we mention it sleeps 14 very comfortably?

In the spacious living room, with a dazzling view of Pleasant Lake, also a screen in porch to enjoy those warm summer nights outside! You will also enjoy a large wood-burning fireplace and a 70 inch 4k Television. Our large game room in the lower level also includes a 65-inch flat TV, foosball table, air hockey table and also a chess/checkers table. Did we mention we have two wood burning fireplaces in our place?

But why stay indoors when the outdoor seating is a panoramic premium for your entire party on a huge deck. Overlooking the lake is a fire pit for those late night bonfires with plenty of wood available. This stunning home also comes with a gas grill, private pier, water toys, two kayaks, pedal boat, and a paddle board. Pleasant Lake 120 acre sand bottom, fishing swimming, boating and we also have a sandy beach!!

You will not find a better vacation home to relax, refresh and enjoy. Perfect for family gatherings , reunions, group getaways, business and spiritual retreats.


Attention golfers! There are two large golf courses, one located in Wautoma: Waushara Country Club, a lovely 27-hole course open to the public and Two Oaks North, a novice friendly 18 hole golf course. There are also many more courses located within 30 minutes of Westfield, including Lawsonia in Green Lake, WI. voted " One of the top 100 Classic Golf Courses in the U.S", ranked #60 by Golfweek in 2017, Lawsonia has been one of Wisconsin's very best golf destinations for generations.

We also offer a Winter Wonderland! About 30 miles away from the lodge is Nordic Mountain Ski and Tubing Hill. This resort offers runs for the whole family, a very fun and exciting tubing park, restaurant and a wonderful family atmosphere. Off season, mountain bike trails take you thru a gorgeous area of our state, ice age trails for hiking. Other skiing attractions include Granite Peak and Cascade Mountain, both approximately an hour away. Waushara County has wonderful snowmobile trails throughout the county and with over 96 lakes, ice fishing is at a premium. Local marinas can outfit you with bait and tackle.

We also want to disclose that we have Ring cameras on the property, we did not want to resort to this but we have been experiencing costly damage to our other property and had no choice but to install cameras on the outside of the property. We have two in the front for people and guests who enter onto the property and two in the back. We respect our renters privacy and these are only to be used for security only and to monitor for safety and security. Thanks for understanding.

We loved our stay at this house!! Super clean and comfortable. Weather was chilly but we still jumped in the lake a few times, couldn’t resist! Loved the pool table and air hockey, and enjoyed the back deck quite a bit. Would definitely come back.

Very spacious and comfortable for 4 couples to enjoy a 4 day weekend getaway. Kayaking, shooting pool and taking in the outdoors are just a few of the fond memories. Definitely recommend this property.

The lake house was perfect. It was just a few flights of stairs to the water front. The wake rule only 11-3 was really nice to be able to enjoy time on the water swimming with peace and quiet.

Great Family Vacay
Beautiful lake home complete with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Kitchen is huge and the pool table, air hockey and foosball table were a big hit. Paddle board, pedal boat, kayaks and numerous water toys available as well. My son left his work laptop at the Lake House and Jonathan personally returned it to my son’s home the same day. That was really appreciated.

Our stay was nothing short of delightful, and we were thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. First and foremost, the location of the property was simply breathtaking. Surrounded by lush greenery and offering panoramic views of the glistening lake, it provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. The tranquility and natural beauty of the surroundings instantly put us at ease, allowing us to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Best yet of our house rentals !
This was our 9th year of renting a summer home in the Wi. - Mi. area, and found this home to be the nicest . Very spacious home for our three families, with the lower level bedrooms / bathrooms floor plan perfect for privacy. Kids really enjoyed the beach area and sandy bottom lake for swimming and fishing..... the provided water toys were a big bonus. Where some folks considered it a negative, we found it a positive to limit the time frame for motor sports on the lake. Finally, Jonathan and Gail were terrific to work with, and responded quickly to all of our questions, making our stay a wonderful experience !

Awesome Lakehouse!
We absolutely loved our first stay at Jon & Gail’s lake house on Pleasant Lake! Our family of 9 had plenty of space and endless things to do over the week, both inside and out! The lake was a great size for kayaking, swimming, & fishing. The open concept kitchen, dining, living room, & pool table was well-used throughout, especially for game nights. The massive laundry room was a bonus to keep up with all the swimming fun. One unexpected surprise was the amazing Elfa closet systems! We can’t wait to go back next year! Thanks for creating the perfect lake house experience for our family!

Family Summer Vacation
We had a great stay with family there. The house was beautiful and had lots to offer. The kids had games and some toys to play with. Lots of space to spread out and relax. The lake was beautiful. Quiet and there is no wake except between the hours of 11-3. Which was nice especially for kayaking and paddle boarding. The beach area for the kids was nice. Plenty of room to play and swim. A short drive into town. We had a great time. 11 people in total stayed and we had plenty of space and things to do without driving each other crazy.

We loved this house!
This is a beautiful house in a beautiful setting! Very spacious! There were lots for the kids to do inside the house as well as the lake! We really enjoyed the fire pit too! The only downside was some of the lake rules that we were not aware of. The lake is beautiful and clean but there is a wake time of 11:00-3:00. We would have preferred a little longer. But we would definitely go back!!!

Great week!
This property was very nice and had high end furnishings throughout. Lake Pleasant is a clean lake with the exception of some seaweed floaters here and there and we all enjoyed hanging out on the very large dock and in the water with sandy bottom. Only drawback is there are quite a few steps down to the water and the full recreation hours on the lake could be an hour or two longer (currently 11:00 am - 3 pm). All in all a super enjoyable week at Jonathan & Gail’s Lakeside Escape. They are very responsive to any inquiries as well.

Awesome home with everything you need for a great vacation! We had 12 family members meet from 31/2-64 and there was plenty of space for all. One of our sons is 100% disabled and after he learned the stairs in and out it was great for him! Something for everyone! Location was perfect and Lake was as described. The owners truly thought of everything and communication was easy!

Beautiful lake home
We stayed at this beautiful lake home for a winter weekend getaway with friends. It was absolutely perfect. Communication with the owners was very easy and prompt. Any questions (very few) we had while staying were answered quickly. Everything was clean and wonderfully decorated. The kitchen is awesome and very well stocked with plenty of pots/pans, utensils, and dishes. I loved how the owners had instructions in places like the kitchen and grill, labels over light switches, and extra throw blankets. Everything was well thought out. We had more than enough room for four couples. I certainly hope to come back in the summer to enjoy the beautiful deck. This is a wonderful property, probably the best VRBO I’ve rented.

Gorgeous and spacious lake home!
We booked a mid winter stay to get a change of scenery. We are so glad we picked this home! It has been exquisitely redone with high end furnishings and the owners have staged everything so nicely…even providing luxury robes in the master bath! The beds were very comfortable, and the home was spacious without being overwhelming. With two living areas, we had plenty of space to relax. The pool table is beautiful. The kitchen is great for large groups and is very well stocked. We hope we can come back in the summer…looks like they have a sandy beach under the snow and ice! Thanks Gail and Jon for your great communication and for sharing your home with us!
