"Room was extremely small...we had a king plus 1 twin bed but basically in a standard room so no room to walk around. Had to shove our luggages under the bed to avoid tripping over them.
Liked the unique historical design of the hotel and has charm which was why i picked it for something different.
Service was impeccable though as the staff were super attentive and very friendly. "
"Whats not to like. Its a delightful and charming gem of a place. The virtues of the 9th century vintage shophouse design are exploited to the full, in conjunction with al modern amenities. JL is a genial and affable host. I do expect to return and do not hesitate to recommend this venue to customers in the future. "

A verified traveler from Woronora Heights stayed at Areca Hotel Penang
"Amazing hotel with the friendliest staff. So beautiful, lots of things to do on the resort itself. We enjoyed massages, parasailing, and swimming. Also great if you have kids and babies, our wee one loved it. We woke up to monkeys on our balcony and that was such a fun experience. You can also enjoy the harmless monitor lizards roaming around the resort. Lastly, the food and service is incredibly cheap and great quality. Highly recommend the Sigis bar and restaurant on the property. Will definitely come back."

"Unique property as each room has a different theme. I particularly enjoy the overall Nyonya, Peranakan vibes to the hotel. It was by the road but not noisy. Convenient location to explore Georgetown as well, walkable to many places."

Check in to check out was amazing. The old world charms was perfect. Very comfortable accommodation close to great spots to eat and drink. Would happily stay there again if we return to Georgetown. "
