Sitting opposite picturesque Chapultepec Park, the Campo Deportivo Militar Marte is one of the most iconic venues in Mexico City. Its majestic grounds host many of the city’s major ceremonies, from government and military activities to equestrian events. On your way to visit Chapultepec Park, spot the structure’s enormous Mexican flag rising high above the surrounding neighborhood of Miguel Hidalgo.
Attend a concert or ceremony in this regal arena. Try your luck in the complex’s elegant casino. Organize your own event in this spacious estate, whose prestigious main room is flanked by columns and arches. Just across the street from the National Auditorium, the site also has scenic gardens and a restaurant.
Gaze up at the impressive Mexican flag, which measures 164 feet (50 meters) by 92 feet (28 meters). Rising 330 feet (100 meters) high on a white flagpole, the flag can be seen from a great distance.
Consider the rich history of the complex, which began as a military equestrian hub at the beginning of the 20th century. It is now the base for the guards of the Estado Mayor Presidencial.

The Campo Deportivo Militar Marte is in the Miguel Hidalgo district, a little west of the center of Mexico City. From the Historic Center of Mexico City, drive west for 4.5 miles (7 kilometers) to arrive here in about 40 minutes. You can also travel by bus to a nearby stop or take the metro to the Auditorio station, a short walk east from the complex. Some of the surrounding sights include the Zoológico de Chapultepec, the Pabellón Coreano and the Fuente de Petróleos.
