Enjoy your favorite drink and soak away the bustle of your busy life as you relax in the jacuzzi, watching the clouds roll in and out. It's not hard to figure out why we bought Over The Edge. Our stay at Over the Edge
John the host was very good at responding to any problems we had. There were things about the maintenance of the property I feel could need some attention. Location was just what we asked for. Overall a good stay.

Located right around the corner from everything to do in Cherokee. It was just perfect for everyone in the family. Nice a cozy up on the mountain with a beautiful view. Very peaceful on the porch drinking a cup of coffee watching the sunrise and set.

Great jumping off point for adventures in the area
My wife and our friends had an enjoyable stay at this property. We made use of the hot tub and cooked dinner each night. During the day, we did some off roading, a scenic train ride, and hiked to fire lookout towers. There were some areas of improvement. The extra blankets smelled bad. There were complementary detergent pods so we washed both blankets which fixed the problem but then we had no pods to wash our own laundry. We made do. The kitchen served it purpose but had some quirks that made it inefficient for more than two guests. The posting photos could be updated. Some elements have been removed since the photos were taken. A physical check in/out binder would have been nice for operating instructions for the gas fireplace, hot tub, and other appliances. One potential luxury would have been more than one towel per person for hot tub and showering.

Stunning views, private location
Perfect place to stay for our fall hiking trip. The sunset views from the hot tub were beautiful, and we enjoyed grilling out on the deck. There are other cabins nearby, but we couldn’t see or hear them so it felt very private. John was easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. A few things to note before you book: - We don’t have 4WD, just a crossover with front wheel drive. We made it up the mountain thanks to Sport mode, but I would still recommend 4WD, especially if there are slick leaves on the road in the fall/winter. - The yard area with the fire pit below the house is a steep trek. If you have mobility issues, it may not be accessible. - We did see some harmless bugs (a small cricket, some lady bugs) but the house had recently been sprayed and it was nothing out of the ordinary for a cabin in the woods. Overall, a great find. We’ll be back!

The view!
My husband and I rented this cabin for a fall getaway in the mountains. It did not disappoint. The view was outstanding. Cabin was comfy and we were an hour or less from most places we planned to visit. Property owner was friendly and responsive to any questions we had. All in all, a great stay.

What a majestic view!
Very cozy and peaceful. Loved having the forest all around, leaving just enough of an opening for that gorgeous view of the mountains! Love being off the beaten path...no noises except nature sounds. Slept like a baby! Cabin very clean, and kudos to whoever decorated it! Nice touches!

The views-Incredible!! Hubby and I enjoyed a nice getaway among the tree tops in this great little cabin. Totally secluded from others but close to gas station down the hill and not far from the city. Could use a little updating overall but homeowner is in the process of updating the hot tub cover and a few items. Decent beds and everything you need. Would highly recommend an SUV or truck getting up to the place. John was easy to communicate with and very pleasant man. Overall a great stay!

Great experience!
The sunset view (which is best enjoyed from the hot tub) is incredible. The gas fireplace is really nice too. We loved staying on the North Carolina side of the Smoky Mountains where there is more nature and less traffic. An SUV or truck will get you up the hill nicely. Recommend arriving before dark if it's your first time here, so it will be easy to find the cabin. We are excited to come back!

Fabulous Views!
If you’re looking for a quiet, remote cabin with great vistas, this is it. The Nantahala valley is gorgeous, and it’s a short drive to Bryson City. From here, we were able to explore the stunning driving loop that includes Cades Cove, Fontana Dam, Newfound Gap and Tail of the Dragon. A few elements of the cabin need fixing/updating (gate, hot tub), but we were here for the scenery and relaxation, not luxury!

The place was exactly how it was pictured. We enjoyed our quiet and secluded weekend. The only downside was the condition of the hot tub, it was still very much usable and hot however is aging and needs attention. I would definitely stay again. It was close to activities and the area was nice.

View and a lizard
Over the edge is just that, a gorgeous view that makes you feel like you are right on the edge of the mountain. Our host was great in making sure everything was ready for our stay and we had everything we needed. We did have a vistor in the downstairs bedroom (lizard) and the hot tub needs some work, hard to shut off and peeling on the bottom but easy to overlook due to how beautiful the view is. The location is awesome and the road to the cabin was easy to access. My daughter had a small car and drove right up with no issues. We would stay again, (even with the lizard) :)

Incredible View of mountains
We enjoyed the incredible view of the mountains while enjoying the large hot tub on the elevated deck. The house and accommodations met expectations as advertised. Excellent cell/data reception with Verizon, which we needed because the Wi-fi did not work. AC and fans in every room kept the house very comfortable during our hot summer stay. I suggest having a truck or SUV as the drive up the mountain on the gravel road to the house is very steep is some locations. I would stay here again.

Romance me!!
I choose this location for our 35th wedding anniversary...my wife loves romance. Thanks to the everchanging views from early in the mornings and the evenings whether from the dining table outside, the hottub, the outdoor furniture....she was romanced and absolutely loved the complete solitude. Our golden came along and he could enjoy the closed in deck and our strolls via the access roads to the property where we saw nor heard anyone. Follow the specific directions provided by the owners about following the red arrows etc up to the property and the fact that Gps does not know the way and it is an easy access. Cozy cabin
We stayed for only 2 nights since had to cut our trip short due to a medical issue. Cabin has a very homey feel . Nice cabin with firm but comfortable beds and a good sized bathroom that you don’t see pics of . View was beautiful . The road is rough .. highly recommend all wheel or 4 wheel drive . Convenient area since secluded but also a short drive from anything needed. Host was very accommodating . :)

Spectacular view, dog friendly
We loved our stay here. Our dog loved the upstairs area. He also loved the porch. The hot tub is perfect, clean. the cabin is very clean. It has every amenity. So glad it had washer and dryer. We had no issue with watching tv or getting the tv to work but Couldn’t figure out the internet but we wanted to disconnect anyways! I took my stick vacuum because I always do anytime we go anywhere to stay, and I got no dirt or hair off the floor. The cabin is rustic and the view it’s incredible. I mean, you cannot get a better view. Nice overall rustic vibe you get in the mountains. the road is not that bad like others have said you just have to know it’s a dirt/gravel road up a mountain, gas it to get up and when going down just go slow. I had no trouble and I drive a gmc terrain. I even had to leave at 4am in the dark to go feed our cats and I wasn’t bothered by the road at night. Bring a baby gate if you have a toddler, because they will want to climb the stairs. It’s in the woods and wild up here so there are bugs, obviously, just bring repellent. The moth population is colorful, beautiful and I some great photos. Owner is nice. Kids had fun. Loved the closed off porch, helps keep kiddos and dogs contained!
