We stayed at the Four Winds for IU graduation weekend. The accommodations were fine and the front desk staff was lovely. Would stay here again.

The kindness of the staff at the front desk, when we had bugs in the room at check in, didn’t question us, put us in another room at once. In the evening, when I needed hot water for tea, the lovely man at the desk got it for us. No task was to small.

The rooms are very outdated and the beds are super uncomfortable.. we were put in the wrong room three different times.. even then it wasn't the right room but I was to tired to argue.. the continental breakfast is a joke.. there was absolutely no fruit the cereal was stale. Apple juice dispenser only had water. And by Friday the orange juice dispenser was only water. Ask the staff several times this stuff would be updated or if they could fill the juice dispenser but it was never done. The only upside was the view from my room was absolutely beautiful.. but unless they didn't management or fix the issues they have we won't be returning.

Overall, for the price we paid, the property was fine. It is a much older property and reminds you of something from the "Dirty Dancing" movie era. Small maintenance issues that couldn't be addressed as they apparently don't have 24 hour on-call maintenance. We found some trash under our bed that was left from the previous guest as well. The "continental breakfast" has MUCH to be desired. The staff at the Windjammer restaurant were very nice and attentive. Neat location, but far from everything. If you're looking for a little getaway that won't break the bank and you like being surrounded by nature and Lake Monroe, this is a good choice.

The stay was nice, room was fairly clean for the price. However…there’s a strong cigarette odor in the hallway. The last problem I had was the lady who runs the breakfast and events is EXTREMELY RUDE, and has the worst attitude i’ve ever seen inna hotel setting. Other than that the stay was great.

We loved this hotel. The views are gorgeous of the lake. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful time and the coffee was great! I’m not sure what everyone in the reviews are complaining about. The place was awesome and we will definitely be back! The pool was awesome too

There were several ants in the pool area and in my room. There were large stains on the sheets. Overall it wasn’t bad, but there were stains on the sheets and at least a dozen (literally counted) ants in my room. The heater filter was extremely dusty and dust was blown throughout the room at night. Bedside lamp was not working. I would not stay again.

Loved walking on the paths around the property & the view of the water. Didn’t love that my room had ants & the walls were super thin. The staff was super friendly & helpful when I needed anything. All in all I’d probably stay again if I was in the area, I just wouldn’t have any open food in the room.

Lets start with the bad. Reserved lake view king bed room and was given parkview 2 queens at 1st. As soon as i walked in lobby i questioned my decision to reserve room as there is no refunds. Went to check room and it was dirty, parkview, and right next to busy area on 1st floor. Told front desk this isnt what i paid for nor is it going to work. They gave me another room 2 queen beds but it was clean and lakeview so i was ok with that. Then we get to the pool and restaurant being closed. Grant it we stayed in off season but advertised both being open online. After 2hr drive we didnt want to leave property again to get food but had to anyways. Overall it was peaceful, relaxing, and had some nice scenery. Needs some TLC and updating. As a hvac/r tech for 15 years i assure you the exhaust fans in bathroom doesnt work regardless of what the sign says in bathroom. Zero air movement when door is closed. Again it was off season so maybe they had building exhaust down for repairs/maintenance like the pool. Plenty of hot water and water pressure though at least room 247. Internet spotty and only option for tv is Direct TV which we are not fans of. If asked id say it depends on what your after. Can only imagine how busy and crowded they are peak seaon.

The property was beautiful! Our room had a balcony looking out over the lake. Our issue was that we did not have any hot water! There was no hot water on Saturday night. When we asked about the hot water we were told that you have to let it run for a while. We did and there was still no hot water. On Sunday morning we had no hot water we asked about it again and when no one seemed to be able to fix the problem we decided to check out. The staff were very nice and the view was stunning but i was not ok with not having a hshower.

Not just another corporate hotel stay
I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. The location is absolutely beautiful, especially the lakeside view. The Lakeside King room is very spacious, comfortable and best of all did not feel like an average corporate-type hotel room at all. Very clean top to bottom. Overall a great experience.

This property is in a great location, on a lake. Unfortunately, I visited this facility during the winter. The lake was beautiful but no activity. I will be visiting this facility in the summer and take advantage of the facility.

Very old and not especially clean. Water was very cloudy and we would not drink it! Windows were very dirty and you could hear everything. Some people were talking right outside our window late at night and I had to knock on the window and tell them to be quiet. Breakfast was just continental and coffee was horrible.

Housekeeping did not show up during the stay until the morning we checked out. There is no FULL continental breakfast during the “off-season. Just some bagels and cereal. Hotel facilities were very cool, and I’d imagine the hotel is very fun during the summer months.

Quiet Winter Season on the Lake
The property was nice, very lodge-like feeling. It is off season right now so there were very few guests. Front desk staff was efficient. Little store in lobby with snacks & drinks was nice. Our balcony overlooking the lake and marina was nice, but not used, due to the cooler temps. Continental breakfast was adequate, average offerings. Bed was comfortable, room was quiet but again, very few guests so makes sense. Biggest complaint would be the hot water; it took forever to get the water in the shower and sink to be more than lukewarm. Tons of water being wasted just waiting. I would like to see this place again in spring summer or fall. I think it would be lovely.
