Not Isolated
We originally had one of the smaller A-Frame cabins but were upgraded to a bigger one. I was under the impression that this was isolated, away from everyone, and was a cabin on its own. This is an A-Frame Cabin on a lot full of other cabins. Not very homey at all - more of a hotel feel. We wanted to get away for a weekend and were expecting an actual cabin, isolated in the woods away from everyone. That’s why we went with VRBO over any other hotel reservation app. This was somewhat deceiving but we still had a good time! A few dirty dishes but everything else was clean. Water pressure was very bad so the giant Jacuzzis took a very, very long time to fill up. It was hard getting in touch with the property owner and I think this is because it’s not actually owned by one person, but a business. We had a great time, but this was more of a campground experience rather than a resort experience.

Hot tub and sauna are out of order and there is a horrifically loud fan in the dimly-lit pool area making relaxation impossible. The locker room and shower facilities were shabby with standing water and mildew; hot water available in only one shower. Needs serious renovation. ALL the machines in the fitness room were broken down. No one on site at the fitness/pool center.

Cozy cabin in the woods
This Coolfont cabin was the perfect weekend home for our family of four (and our dog). Friendly staff at the lodge welcomed us with giant smiles and answered all our of questions. The cabin was cozy and warm with ample space. Large, clean bathrooms. Especially loved the wood stove. We enjoyed the hiking and biking trails nearby, as well as the on-site restaurant, on-site pool and brew pub just across the street. Will definitely be back!

Cabin was clean and suited us quite well. Location had an indoor pool, game room, fitness room, restaurant/bar. Everything we needed. Only problem was VRBO site did not give check-in information. You'll need to go to the main building where the restaurant is in order to get the keys

It's a resort, folks
Great for folks who want to eat at restaurants all the time, not so hot for those who want peace, quiet, and a kitchen. That said, we had a wonderful stay: clean, quiet (with the exception of a motorbike set of neighbors), and just a short drive to the springs. Also craft beer & BBQ joint is tucked away across the street. We most likely will be back.

This property was quiet and tucked away. It did not have a stove which was disappointing. You had no Wi-Fi or telephone in the cabin to order from the restaurant. You had to go in person for a Togo order. They have a nice deletion of beer on tap but you couldn’t get a growler to go. It would have been nice to take it Togo. This town is not for anyone mixed or non-white. Be informed; there is a castle in town where white nationalists gather. Be informed before you book in this area. The cabin smelled of mildew and the AC was not the best. Overall it was a relaxing weekend which we were looking for.

Very nice and quiet spot. The cabin was large and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and had everything we needed for a quiet weekend. We did not take the time to check out the pool but the tree top restaurant was nice. We hope to come back and stay again.

Check in was easy , finding the cabin could have been easier( I’m simple ) Entire cabin was very clean, property needs some cleaning up and “ old “ cabins needs to be redone to make the area nicer. The pool was freezing , sauna or hot tub wasn’t working for public. The best part was the wood burning fire place and the quietness

Cute place- but get better locks!
The place was really cute and I’d definitely say it was worth it. That said, there were a few off putting things. The biggest issue I had was with the safety of the cabins (it was just two females staying in the cabin). There are two entrances: a sliding glass door and a side entry door. The sliding door was relatively easy to secure so it couldn’t be broken open but the side entry door was just a very simple interior door lock. No deadbolt, chain, entry code, nothing. There was also a slightly damp smell in the cabin. Overall it was a cute place to stay and we will think about coming back in the summertime!

Check in was great super nice gentleman. They were very accommodating getting us blankets. Would have been nice to have a stove. Check out was not as pleasant. I asked the staff if we needed to do anything in particular since we didn’t know staying in a cabin if the rules were different than a hotel. The lady was kinda rude and really didn’t answer the question. We like to follow the rules but didn’t know what to do. Also the treadmill were broken as a runner that how I start the day on the treadmill so that was disappointing.

Convenient and clean cabin in the woods that we really enjoyed. Heat worked well. Pictures showed true amenities but description listed a kitchen. It was a sink, microwave, coffee maker, and small refrigerator. No internet service.

Perfectly close enough & far enough away
This rental is perfect & we plan to return as soon as we can. The cabin has everything you would need inside - very comfortable linens - not heavy but warm, very spacious rooms & bath - overall great use of space & out(view, parking & fire pit). We had our dog and there were no issues with stairs or anything else, The immediate area offers great dog walking paths. Charlottes Cafe in town offers outdoor seating where pets are allowed. As stated - we plan to go back :)

To celebrate our anniversary, we wanted to go somewhere that we both have not been to before. What we were looking for; a cabin/ small house, in "Nature" with hiking, fishing, but close to places to go out to eat. Berkeley Springs seemed like a good fit. We arrived late (apprx 9:30p) Check-in went smoothly and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We had a short drive to the cabin. Very nice cabin, it was a perfect fit for what we wanted. Our weekend just went up from there. We went fishing at the large pond in the morning. A lot of vegetation but still ended up catching 8 bass total. The big surprise "The 1st Annual Fall Music & Beer Festival". What a good time! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Good music & friendly people. Lastly, I have to mention the Treetop Restaurant. You will not be disappointed. We had breakfast and dinner there both days. (we decided to take the leisurely walk in the AM) The food can't say enough about it, was excellent, with generous portions and the service was first rate and personable. I would recommend Coolfont for your next escape/vacation.

Wooded retreat
We were looking for a remote-feeling, yet not so distant location from Berkeley Springs and Coolfont delivered! The a-frame cabin in the woods was a great escape. Large bathrooms, comfy furniture, and big windows made the place great. Wished there was a bit bigger fridge space, but as we were only there for a few days, it was fine. Enjoyed hanging up our hammock in the trees outside and enjoying naps. Restaurant was great as well with stellar service.
