"Good 5 star hotel but the mattress, carpet and air conditioning is a bit tired. The housekeeper will always adjust your thermostat to 22, but it needs to be left at its lowest setting if 18.5C to keep the room comfortable (adjust the fan level instead). Our keys frequently stopped working to unlock the door, twice after being just made at the front desk just before heading upstairs to the room. Baffled even the staff that needed to accompany you to make sure the new key could open the door: NOT"

"The Fairmont Istanbul was nice, but it was lacking the service and attention to detail found at other Fairmonts. When we arrived our luggage was taken and never showed up to our room for over 2 hours, multiple calls to have it resolved, because of the time change and jet lag it was a little annoying when we juts wanted to shower and head to bed. The TV system in the room would not work it would go off or screen would go black, the Maintenance staff tried to fix it and were friendly. The room was...

"Most of all I liked the staff at this hotel. Very professional, helpful, nice and courteous. Hotel lobby wasn't very well designed to spend time at. There is not much to do around the hotel and one should walk about 20 minutes to reach some good locations. There is a mall very close to the hotel that can be helpful in case of emergency needs or shopping for leaisure."
