Our stay at Turtle Bay was excellent.
Our group had 2 rooms, and while TB was not able to guarantee neither connecting nor adjoining rooms, the front desk staff at checkin did a thorough job of finding room options that best suited our priorities (we ended up on the same floor but in different wings, which worked out great and both rooms had wonderful views and could see each other from the balconies).
The rooms were spacious, modern, well maintained, and very clean (like *very* clean - even the vents, filters, and plumbing all looked like they were regularly cleaned & maintained, which is super rare for hotels).
If you opened the sliding glass door, you could vividly hear the ocean, beach, and pool activity, but as soon as the door was closed the room was practically silent. Really good sound insulation.
TB also doesn't have a price difference for Valet vs Self Parking, which was actually kind of nice. The only cost difference is what you choose to tip (the valet staff is fantastic).
My only complaint was that the thermostat in the room only cooled - it didn't have a heating functionality. That said, it's Hawaii and there's not much need for a heater, but there were a couple points on our trip where I wish I had one. In retrospect though, I never asked the front desk if they had a space heater - they may very well have provided one.
Overall: fantastic experience; highly recommended; will return. And the North Shore is great as always.
